Years ago I was picking up a girl for a first time meet. Forget if from craigs or one of the sugar sites. Original pickup location was her house in a very nice location, last minute she said to pick up at her cousins. (how many cousins do these chicks have? Picked her up at a shit hole apartment complex, should have figured. Anyway, while rolling out of the complex a cpd turned on me and pulled me over for window tint. Nice car in a shitty place, go figure. They ended up doing search, thank god she didn't have anything on her to drop in my car. As soon as they turned us loose I dumped her ass at the same place I picked her. Not a fun experience. I play a lot safer now.

If LE gives any indication that they want to search your car, tell them you do not consent to searches. Always keep your car locked up during a stop. If they order you out of your car, be sure to lock the car back up on your way out. They probably will make threats or tell you that things will be easier if you let them search. Those are just lies. Ask if you are free to go to make it clear that you are there against your will. Also do not answer any questions. They might ask what you are doing in that part of town or some such. Your only answer should be "I want a lawyer" or something similar.

But, if things have gone that wrong in the first place, it's going to be a bad day.

Be polite. Be courteous. You do have to identify yourself and produce I. D if possible. Say as little as possible. Ask, am I free to go? Am I under arrest? Just be polite and cooperate as much as is within reason without lying (falsification, am M1 charge) or incriminating yourself.

My thought is, they're doing it all day every day so the witnesses see it time and again. It's normal and not at all out of place to them. I've lost too many dimes by getting out-maneuvered, so these days if I see one, I find the quickest way to them without violating any traffic laws.

If you take the hardline, make sure you have a means to video the encounter. I was parked at the dollar general last spring when an officer pulled up beside me and asked me what I was doing, and I said picking up some advil, is there a problem officer? He said that someone with my vehicle description committed a felony, bla, bla, bla. I told him I have some friends that live in the area, and he asked where, and I smiled and said, in the area, am I a suspect? He then said no sir, have a nice day. This wasn't a traffic stop, but rest assured if you monger around the area enough your vehicle will be remembered. I have said this before, have a reason to be in the area. Real estate investor, contractor sales man, anything. As far as the fellow who scooped the SW at the UDF, there is no law against giving someone a ride, but if they have a warrant, be ready to have your car searched.

My cover may have been blown so that's why, but I have been active more than I like to admit. I will say there is a ton of SW action that does not get posted. So many I have met that I have never heard about here. They do come and go fast. Since so on topic, I have decided to post. I made a pick very recently. I hate the cold, and I hate night time when they are all bundled up. But, never the less I had a little head issue that needed addressed. Made it to the loop after work and cruised for about an hour (after 9). Got tired of being tale gated, and cut in front of so said fuck it and headed home, I usually leave by Sallys market and hit the freeway when I saw "T" in the alley by Davis.
