Yes, if you are in the room when the police come to serve a warrant or conduct a search then you will be detained and possibly arrested. If for example, drugs are found in the open and nobody claims them then you will both be charged and depending on the drug arrested. For paraphernalia it can be a grey area since you just get a ticket for some of them. The big things working in your favor are:
1. Most of these arrests happen because the chick is on probation or does something stupid and you likely won't be in the room at the time of arrest.
2. If you saw drugs in plain view then hopefully you left long before the cops came.
3. If a cop is doing a search and finds drugs in a suitcase they will generally charge the owner of the suitcase and not everyone around.
4. In these situations the cops usually care about drugs or something other than you paying for pussy.
Again NAL but IIRC hotels can allow officers entry into any room but they can't just go searching through everything. So again as long as there is nothing in plain view and the chick is not on probation or parole, a cop in the room is probably just that. Avoid the ones with clear signs of drug use, in shitty hotels and who are clearly high volume and you should be fine.
Regarding retirement, I'm pretty much in the same boat.
