I have been a member of other boards for a long time, and you often see a tendency of people to stay for a year or two then fade off and do something else with their time. But you also see that with family holiday times such as Thanksgiving and Xmas, that hobbyiest will be pre-occupied with other activities.

I don't know if this post will make the cut, but I find this one of the most difficult boards to post on. Maybe after the upgrade is complete it will be better, but that certainly limits my contributions here.

The super moderated posting is tough, the delays, and posts not making the grade, etc. certainly discourages myself and probably others from posting. I don't know if Jackson does all the moderating himself, but that must be an incredible amount of work. Here is my list of pet peeves for this forum.

1. Cannot seem to upgrade to Senior member so I can post immediate.
2. No anchored posts. Posts that can be used as references, such as AMP listings.
3. Single threaded forums with no delineation for SW, AMP, Escort, etc.
4. Super moderation for things that I really don't care about, such as how well someone writes and whether they use periods and I's correctly.

This is just my opinion, FWIW

For me it isn't in DC. I've never been a loop guy, despite LV's attempts to change that. When I do hunt for poon in DC, it's usually out Rhode Island, and that's been dead when I've traveled there. I've had a few good dates out NY Ave, but that stroll is short and often heavily patroled by LE.

I have also noticed a decrease in board traffic. This might have something to do with Jackson's recent software upgrade and its somewhat buggy interface. The search function is mostly inoperable, etc. For a while response time slowed to an intollerable crawl and that might have gotten some folks out of the posting habit.

And how many different ways can one get laid at an AMP? I've even started to patronize some NoVa AMPs just for a good rub down. The tug is just a bonus.

That all said, there have been a crop of newbies posting some decent stuff. There hasn't been a flame war in a while.

Perhaps you mostly miss the spirits behind the posts as much as the intel? RIP Trash.

I agree that the software upgrade may have affected the number of posts. I had a guy PM me to tell me that regular members posts weren't getting posted due to the review. I wish Jackson would update the home page so that we knew what is going on. I've notice fewer posts in other areas, like Asia, where I like to photo gallery.

I've never participated in the street scene and I'm a pretty mild mannered guy, so I won't get into a flame war. I'm low on entertainment value, but hopefully good enough on the info. I have been monogamous since mid September, so, while satisfying to me, my activities are not very interesting.

By the way, I had heard that Mirage spa got a visit from the guys in blue on Tuesday. This is at least second-hand information, but worth posting.

So, why the board decline...

I don't know, the software upgrade definitely started things. It was annoying just trying to lurk, let alone post. But as for me, the game has become sort of old hat - meaning, been there, done that. Unless i have something unsual or funny, or a warning, I don't have much to say. Plus, I don't monger like I used to.

I haven't hit the K&L loop for a while b/c the last time I did I found a little gem that has occupied all my mongering time since. She hops on the metro to and fro', so I don't even have to leave the house. I'm eager to check things out though, maybe I'll do a run sometime this weekend.

First off let me thank all the senior members coming to us(newbie's) rescue about the lack of posts on WSG. I for one have been very frustrated by the new site and have tried to post but have been unable to do so with any consistency, and trying to do a search is not even a consideration because it's still very messed up!!(though I'm sure Jackson will fix it as soon as he can), so from time to time we do need help and look to the senior members for this help(you are not seniors for nothing)! Plus lets face it some of us just can't get to an amp every week like it's obvious some here do, once a month is all I can budget for at this time so for others out there please be patient and I'm sure they will cum. Last I'm sure many of us(I being one) am just not completely sure we want our posts being view by LE(which I know they do) so a little digression it warranted.

Ok to the review....

I called last night to make an appointment and get address, first off they had no one that could speak English so getting an address was a BIG hassle.

Secondly, got there today and after what seemed to be 15 minutes standing in the cold on the stoop waiting to be let in I finally had to go around to the back door and knock on the window(I saw her in there eating breakfast) to let me in.

Third, after getting in and paying house fee(Oh by the way all fees are 20% higher than normal) I was lead into a small room with a bath attached but was not offered a shower or even a hint that I should clean up, even though I did on my own accord.

One peculiar footnote, this girl had the weirdest nips I've ever seen, first off they were huge but most notable the skin around the nips(I forgot what they call that area) had a very reddish tint to it instead of brown as I'm sure most of us are use to seeing, it almost looked like lip stick but it was not. I do feel for regular members. The post delay sucks. And the Senior upgrade takes forever after you request (but you must request to be upgraded, to actually BE upgraded), mine took many months. But we really can't ***** at Jackson for this, after all, he gives us all this and doesn't ask for anything in return, except to follow the rules.

Addressing issue number 3: I think the new format intends to do just what Dave wants it to. I think Jackson wants us to start different threads under DC like Dave mentioned, but instead, everyone just reply's to the last post. I don't know, I kinda like the way we've always done it that's why I ahven't used the new format.

Also, in regards to number 2: I bet Jackson has the ability to anchor posts. It certainly shouldn't be in the hands of members to anchor posts because if you guys are anything like me, we'd all be anchoring all of our own posts. Because what I say is most important!!!!!!!!!! (wink)

We could set up our DC board to have different thread topics and see if Jackson could anchor them? We could have SW threads (maybe even divided into the different tracks) AMP threads (aagin could have indie ones for each DC spa), escort threads, etc. Again, i'm fine with the old way, but it could be better for regular members where your posts wouldn't be so easily lost due to the post delay. After I finish this post I'm going to experiment and try to satrt a new thread under DC and see if works the way I believe Jackson is intending to have it work.

One suggestion for posts to get approved quicker and for Senior Member upgrades to happen quicker, would be for Jackson to assign volunteer moderators for each area, allowing the trusted moderators to govern their local board.

Anyway, thanks Dave GB, good post. I'm going to experiment so let's see how it goes...

Well, I just tried to start a new thread and it said I did not have permission to do so. Soooooooo, forget what I said, it doesn't work that way. But I do think that is the intention so maybe the upgrade isn't complete.

Good to see some action on the DC Board!!! I hadn't thought about the impact of the new software but I do remember how frustrating it was to have the delayed posts prior to achieving Senior status.

I second Loopy's vote for the existing format where it all goes in on one thread. Keeps it interesting. I can't say I miss the Otto BS however. I'd much rather have LoveLOS resurface and tell me that Kelly, Mimi and Maya have returned to Downtown.

I think I have found the new AMP girl of the moment. The question I have is should I post the intel on the Board or invite Senior Members to PM me so that the lurkers who do not contribute won't overwhelm this lovely. Any thoughts?

With my current situation, I'm thinking about starting some philosophical discussions, which is nowhere near as interesting as activity reports.

I have no idea of the true lurker to poster ratio, especially for the local area. However one can do some imaginary number crunching and see the lurkers FAR out weigh the posters.

At the bottom of the Main Index to the Forum, there are some always interesting numbers. The number of threads, the number of posts (currently 306,423), and the number of members (currently 106,826). That puts the average post at just under 3 per member (I didn't do the full math).

But when you consider that you have 116, Robux has 346, Motorback has 221 and I have 321, someone is definately not posting. At a rate of probably 100 to 1 or so. Any math major out there care to fill this in.

My two cents on a block party. DC is probably more convinient to all the members who might attend, though there is less action there than in Baltimore. Baltimore adds an additional hour or so to my drive of 3 hours.

A block party needs to be a weekend night, preferably a Saturday as I have full time Friday night engagements. I think LoveLOS or someone set one up last year for a Wed and the participation was very poor.

Announce there will be a party, just don't say when or where and ask for PMs from senior members or high post regular members. Then make your decision and PM those who've indicated a desire to attend with the date, time and location.

Going to the slowness of regular member posts showing up. We all know that Jackson reads each regular member post prior to it showing up. Look at the above numbers. Think how bad things could be if every registered member started posting. AHHHHH. On top of that, I was reading about the Thanksgiving bash in BA. Jackson is biting the bullet and getting married (check out the photos of the lovely future Mrs. Jackson there). So I am pretty sure his social life has slowed some of his work down too. Maybe his bride will help co-moderate the forum.

Anyway, should anyone in DC setup a Block Party, PM me with the info as I would like to attend. And Slim, don't worry about the don't drink, don't smoke,etc. I don't drink alot myself, especially when I have to drive. I am a never did puff a cigarette person, so I don't see those as problems.

With regard to the poster to lurker ratio, if Seva Lurker is anywhere near correct (and I happen to think he is) than there is a huge untapped source of intel out there that could be useful to all. Even if its only 50:1, 20:1 or even 10:1 then there are large numbers of guys who are not sharing and just sponging off those of us who do post.

Seems to me that the real challenge is not cutting of the intel but getting the lurkers to decloak and to start contributing.

Glad I could post just as the Board was picking up. I called last night to make an appointment and get address, first off they had no one that could speak English so getting an address was a BIG hassle.

My fellow americans. I posted a grand total of 3 post, so the cherry is officially gone, but I find myself falling into the old habits of a lurker. Time to stop that and start contributing.

Being an AMP man myself, I made my way to the BOSS's office. There I met up with a helper known as Pepsi (go figure that name out). She was older, everything was natural and used.
