The best steaks in Tijuana
Some of these TJ's steak houses are way over hyped and prices ridiculously too high. Their alleged free range, grass-fed Argentinian beef are likely grown in Costco hehe. Cheripan had a good clientele but closed down for good since 2016. Its steaks were definitely not Argentinian. We paid about $50 per head with wine, no desert, definitely not worth it.
It makes no sense to go to TJ and pay higher prices for lower quality steaks and poorer service than what you can have at Mastro's, Ruth Chris, Morton ect in California.
My favorite steak is Azul's huge rib eyes, order it medium and cut up. Have the mesero bring it with tortillas and trimmings to HK. Roll a chunk of beef in the tortilla, add salsa, guacamole and hot sauce, feed it to your sweetheart. The girls just love that bite hehe. Quite a few HK girls go to work literally hungry. Soon poor hungry girls would notice the food distribution and walk by for a bite. If you buy them a drink, 4 or 5 of them would sit and party with you all night.
My next favorite places are Mr. Pampas or Churrascaria do Brasil in Zona Rio, AYCE grilled beef, pork, mutton, seafood brought burning hot to your table all night for less than $15 per head. You can taste all different cuts of meats here. One of my wingmen is a big eater, gulped down 7 or 8 plates of meats then a few more plates of desserts. I was at Churr do Brasil across from Plaza Rio a few weeks ago. Their salad bar was small, some of their meats were not fresh due to slow business under CoVid.
