It's kind of a pisser because you 'do' have to give them some basic info, like name and where you live (the stuff on your driver's license). From there, it's very easy to keep answering their questions when you don't have to, particularly when they put on their "Officer Friendly" routine. I actually had one tell me we were just a couple of guys talking. My response was, "Oh, so you're my buddy, now? We going to go hang out in a bar and have a few beers, too? Even more confounding is how so many actually [I]consent[/I] to a search of their vehicle, particularly when they know they've got something illegal inside. I just can't figure that one out.
