It's nothing spectacular, but it's a Nikon L100. It looks like an SLR, but it's basically a fully automatic digital point n' shoot with a super zoom nikor lens (15x's). I like the photo quality during the day, but I wish it had a manual mode so I could adjust the settings for night shots.

I usually research electronics before I buy, but I just went off somebody's recommendation on this one since I really didn't have much cam knowledge - I'm learning. Hey, don't get me wrong, it's a great camera, and does a better than average job, but it has some limitations - can't expect too much from a $$.50 camera. I'll play with it for a bit, then maybe read up on some dslr's.

Just got done putting the rubber to the pavement for a couple hours and I saw a few sw's out there. Mainly by the taco place across the street from the jib. I took my camera with me for the second night and still didn't have the nerve to take a few shots of the girls. Especially since the jib lot had quite a few cars and my windows aren't tinted so I wasn't all that willing to be so obvious. I did drive further down and took some test shots at random buldings to check the lighting and such and learned something about the lens length to shutter speed ratio. Long story short, all my pics were blurry as hell because I have a long lens. So in answering bmalibu's curiosity, it might actually be better to stick with the point and shoot because of it's high iso ability and short lens. A huge advantage is the digital zoom; a thing that my dslr doesn't have or I think any dslr has for that matter.

Yeah, when I set my cam on "sport continuous" mode, it automatically sets the ISO to 3200. Trust me though, I had to play around with the settings a lot before I discovered how to take the best low-light shots with minimal blurring. Post up a few of what you got anyway... the worst picture is better than no pic at all!

O.K. Guys I need a favor. I will be visiting Fullerton for Christmas and will be staying around the Target and Albertsons near Amerige Hieghts. I am a senior member from Birmingham Alabama, fell free to check out my reports and pics. My main question is where is the closest place to monger and drive, routes or places of interest. Any help would be appriciated and would really ike to try to find a hispanic sw. PM is fine if you want to.

When your vehicle window is up the sensor picks up the distance of your glass and sets its focus on close up mode. This could be the reason why the girls outside your window at a distance is blurry. A moving vehicle and night time light just added a level of difficulty.

The photos are awesome regardless. I look forward to this thread everyday. Good job everyone.
