For me, much more convenient not having that extra phone to hide, charge, and pay for. I believe you can have the account on a "do not disturb" setting, so it'll go straight to voice mail, and shouldn't show up on your bill since it doesn't call you. If you are able to text the girl, you can do that right from your computer like emailing. You can also listen to your voice mails there to.

Yes this can show up on your cell bill. I use a Tablet and use the mic to make my calls. No number to link it to. Nothing to find.

I tried it, when I used my old gmail account, it asked me if I want a number. Then I used my new gmail account (associated with my android phone) and it did not ask me if I wanted a new number. Wonder if they don't offer them when you have one

Another option that came to my attention over the weekend is Ring Shuffle ([url]www.ringshuffle.com[/url]). Basically you give it your mobile number, pick an area code, and it gives you a "shuffle" number good for a week. Done with the number? Shuffle to a new one.

No text options, unfortunately, and it won't address the calling number coming up on the bill issues (use one of the VoIP options for Google Voice to avoid that) , but will give you a temporary number that will ring your phone and can be disposed of when finished.

Maybe a year ago there were lots of posts speculating about how much $$$ SWs make out there. Yesterday there was an article in the NY Times about a former SW with a mention of $$$ that caught my eye. So this is related to the $$$ question but the article deals with a very young SW up in NYC in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx, not the typical SW we see on the K. The article was about how this SW is going straight and lets remember that this is not confirmed information. So anyway, here is what the NY Times reported that some FORMER SW told them:

Personally, I am dumbstruck. Rates in Hunts Point are reported to be in the range of $100. Could be lower, for a UASW maybe its higher, who knows. This is street action, not outcall or incall service. Still, do the math!

Assuming she sleeps at least 4 hours a day, that would be I, $100 date an hour. Maybe in NY on Hunts Point, but that ain’t happening in Philadelphia, on Kensington Ave.

I agree with Cookiejar when it come to the SWs earnings. Most dates I get here in Reading require about 20-40 bones. I was talking to a fellow monger and we were thinking how odd the work ethnic of the SWs are. I mean they tell you all the stories about how desperately they need the bones. But as soon as you are done they are off the street and gone for the night. I am sure there are those guys that give top bone once in awhile but that is out of the ordinary. I would think the same chances of catching the game ball at a baseball game. Just my. 02

I am going to be visiting Philly for the first time for a convention. I am staying in a hotel right by the convention center, but I probably won't have a rental car. So, I am interested in mongering opportunities within walking distance of the convention center. I understand that Chinatown is right there, which I imagine offers some AMPs to play at; is there anything else right in that area to look at?

I am interested in AMP addresses, strip clubs (where extras could be had) , or known SW locations in that area. If needed I could ride the subway somewhere, but I don't want to get trapped in any dangerous hoods.

You can just grab a local free paper and turn to the back.

SWs are on Kensington which you could get to by taking the Market Frankfort line and then saunter around until you find something you want. Not a dangerous hood, just run down and junky. It does have a lot of drugs (why the SWs are there). Go during the day, you'll still see plenty of SWs. Get off at Erie-Torresdale and walk south you can go home by getting on one of the other stations.

I would also recommend, getting off at Huntington Station and just stroll between Lehigh and Cumberland, in that stretch the greatest concentration of SWs is out during the day. They also tend to be the prettier ones (IMHO). If you go further north, there will be long stretches with no action.

(1) I got off the El at the Somerset station hoping to find somebody with a nearby room and almost immediately ran into Kim, a former date. We ended up going to the adult bookstore 1/2 block north at Hart Lane, rented an upstairs video booth and she sat on me while I sat on the tiny wooden seat. The last I heard the bookstore was still on probation for its L&I violations and was not renting space to couples; it's been a few months however.

(2) I was just south of the K & A intersection, not looking for a date, and happened to bump into Jocelyn (R. I. P.). We agreed on a price and rented a room at her friend's house a few blocks away. So asking the girl if she knows of a nearby room may work.

I totally agree. It can be done. My second favorite room to rent is within walking distance of the Huntingdon Station. Most girls have their own favorite stops. Ask and you shall recieve.
