I think you will be hard pressed to find any hotels / motels in the area that will take cash (and not also need a card for incidentals and / or ID).

You can show them a CC and tell them to only put a temporary hold on the deposit and that you will pay in ca $h at the end. The Temp hold goes away when the transaction is not followed thru and never shows up on statements.
