Seems with all the heat this year, almost all are currently a lost cause. Went to one I've visited the most and called ahead, picking a familiar name. After a visit from LEO a few weeks ago, they got new management, and the place is strictly therapeutic. Never had anyone named Nia there as far as I knew. Also now catering to female customers. Agree that it is clean, and the massages are excellent. It can be a relief to know that you are not going to be confronted by an episode of Law & Order as you exit the premises.

No one really knows why some places are getting busted and others are not. Anyone's guess is as good as others. Could be Bliss has gone legit, or its become more cautious, or its better networked (there is a huge country club right next door), or it has its paperwork in order unlike other spas that were caught off guard by the change in law for licensure.
ETA: One thing to be mindful of is that the map on lexis is merely pointing to police report numbers. Its not clear from the limited information what the violations entailed. The new massage law makes it a felony to aid or abet unlicensed practice of massage therapy, and supporters of the law were pretty explicit that they were seeking to root out sex work and human trafficking. . Its possible that the arrests relate to the aid and abet violations, or its possible that they are for more explicit activities. The crime map does not provide those details, which are in the arrest reports.
