Why that one?

Not mine, but someone who hasn't had the number in at least three years anyway. If you pop it into Spokeo or Truepeoplesearch or one of those sites, it comes back with a hit, but the others don't. So clearly it's some asshat from who knows where who's just tossing literally every number to text them into one of these sites and hoping they get lucky enough to scam you. Long story short, next time you set up a burner, search the potential burner number itself first and get one with no connections like that.

The only reason I've never responded to the texts to tell them how bog-stupid this stuff is, is because there's the off chance they're moofing the numbers somehow to avoid displaying their real ones, and I'd rather not be the asshole who sends an unsolicited string of insults to some poor schmuck who doesn't realize his number is being used by a scammer.
