Info from a provider with confirmation from another provider about a bust at their own place? Why would they provide that info? About neighbors and other competitors? Not credible information going into not credible report, especially when there is nothing else to substantiate rumors and hearsay. Highly unlikely that coordinated busts at multiple places would not be reported on the news. Every reason for LE and media to have media coverage of such a crackdown. And with APEC coming and political pressure from HB240, crackdowns are probably being planned as we speak. Everybody needs to be extra careful.

This is a legal bust:

Undercover cop says "Would you like this forbidden thing for $$?"

You say "Yes."

This is not:

Cop (undercover or not) says "Buy this forbidden thing or we'll hurt you in some fashion."

That's entrapment.

The officer can offer you anything they want and once you voluntarily agree to pay the jig's up.

Other myths:

The LE check is total hogwash. Feeling each other up means nothing.

They don't have to state whether or not they're a cop. If they did they'd never be able to go undercover.

However, [b]there is no entrapment where a person is ready and willing to break the law and the government agents merely provide what appears to be a favorable opportunity[/b] For the person to commit the crime. For example, it is not entrapment for a government agent to pretend to be someone else and to offer, either directly or through an informant or other decoy, to engage in an unlawful transaction with the person (see sting operation).
