I'm not sure when it started, maybe when Backpage no longer required payment for escorting ads, but I get different ads depending on how I have the ads listed. Here is my impression:
Top. Lists the ads Backpage wants you to see. Maybe they are the paid ads?
Gallery. Lists lists the top ads that have associated photos.
Video. Lists the top ads that have associated videos.
Date. Lists all ads but it is a pain in the ass to use because you have to click about every ad to find what you are looking for.
How are you picking from backpage?
I used to just look at the gallary section but I realize that a lot of the ads that are posted on here don't come from that part. Now I use the date section. More work but you can see all the ads. Very slim pickings on BP these days.
