Last time I went by during their posted hours they were closed. And rubmaps said Permanently Closed a few days ago. Maybe they had a glitch and reopened.

Do the research here and determine the "going rate" for the various finishing options. Then leave that cash on display on the ubiquitous night stand under one of your valuables like car keys or glasses. Do that while alone and undressing. During the massage your offering will be noted by your therapist. It is an ice breaker for subsequent activities and highlights you as a serious patron.
On the flip, there may be some conversation to confirm the options. And of course, there may be some negotiating but 9 times out of 10 the going rate will suffice. But you cannot blame the therapist for trying.
If you are skittish about leaving cash on the night stand, you can always keep it displayed on the massage table, tucked partially under the pillow.
I have more or less backed away from the game but this has never failed me.

My question and I start by saying its probably stupid. But here goes. So I do my research on the standard fare for L1, but I'm really looking for L2 or L3. Do I just leave the L1 tip visible and see what comes out of any convo or negotiations?

But to answer the question. Display the tip for the expected level of service. It avoids those awkward conversations and makes for an (ahem) seamless transition.
At the same time you do need situational awareness. Few shops offer the higher levels of therapy now and those have been discussed here often. The majority of the new shops, all Chinese, only offer entry level therapy.

I keep the fee in one pocket and the rest in th other so they never know what I am carrying. I take off my humble gold gain and watch if wearing and leave tucked in car. No wallet no I'd. I have been there before if they ask. "Yeah I was here back when Pipsi was working here, you must be new, been a few months, was away on business. " The tip goes down once they leave and allow me to dress after all is done. I get in and out before they can go back in. If they hover and start making up the table while I am dressing I ask for a water or whatever to get them out of room. If it is a solid massage and HE then I leave the $ 4 for L1, if I have to coax and the massage was mediocre then sometimes leave a jack only. Even if I go back it won't be for months and at that point they won't remember that I left jack for a L1. Once I know everything is on the table I say I only have $ 6 or $ 8 even if I have more. Most times if they take a low offer then give you the "next time you bring more". Sure will, but probably won't go back for awhile. I also tell them "you talking on phone and leaving room six times counts against you and not my hour".
If they hold tough and start to grab my shorts to bring them to me to grab the cash I say only have this and then say maybe next time. More times than not they will take it. If not, swing down and find a swan for a finish.

I have had shower and L1 for a 1/2, sometimes they want you to pay for full to get the shower.

Hadn't seen any reviews for it so I went by the place at Barnes and University. Masseuse was 30's ish, not bad to look at. Paid 60 for the hour. Fair amount of teasing on the backside and didn't shy away from my hands otc but was strictly DIY on flip. Massage wasn't really what I wanted and lack of options so I don't intend to revisit but I've definitely had worse experiences.
In OP near the Mall. Tried 4 times before reporting. The place is very small but clean, not all rooms have doors and walls are very thin but has never been an issue. Kinda awkward because you hear everything from the reception to the rooms (even guys asking for happy endings at the reception desk LOL). Seems like they appreciate soft speakers. Got mamasan the first time weekday around 11 am, she's older but funny and playful. Ok table shower with teasing and jokes, nice medium-hard full body massage and L1 on the flip. The following 3 times saw Cece, she is cute and playful as well. L1 twice then L2 the 3rd time. Last time in the shower she pretty much insinuated that L2 is the best offered and L3 might be impossible due to current room (thin walls). Still a good place for a relaxing stop. Last time it was almost 7 pm as I walked out and saw a youger girl walking to the back, now I might have to go later at night to satisfy my curiosity. As always YMMV.
