A couple of bad experiences (yours and mine) got me thinking about providers. It's funny how we keep thinking of them as if they were running a legit business. With focus on excellent customer service, skills, scheduling, pacing themselves, availability, etc. Nobody is more surprised than me when a provider does something stupid. I keep thinking, "that's no way to run a business!" I had to tell a girl to never call me, I'd call her when I was ready. I said "hey, Kroger has never once called me and asked me to come buy groceries because they needed the money! They might think I'm a jerk, but I've put together some pre-scheduling questions, and a little speech that I give when I arrive, and I've found it helps. I've covered most of it in previous posts. Maybe in the Rip-Off forum. I've started asking them about Aunt Flo, if they are too booked-up, too tired, etc. , they might (will) lie, but I think it helps to set some expectations early. I let them know about donation only after deed, no texts or calls once we begin. I paid for it, it's MY time! I expect them to be clean down there, and I will too, I put my phone away, you put yours away, it's just rude. No one comes in room, knocks on door, rings the phone, etc. You break a rule and me and my money walk! One red flag and I bail on the whole thing. I also let them know I'll be posting this and every encounter in a monger forum (don't worry, I don't tell them which one, and don't admit it if they guess it), so anything they do or say can and will be used for or against them.
This is not to say I came up with any of this, read the Rip-Off forum, and the Unreliable Providers forum. There's a lot of good advice out there, and thanks to those that post it! Now for the real problem, if only my little head would read it and heed it!
No offense to those providers who are clean and sober, and actually are organized and professional, but I've found they are few and far between.
Also no offense to any mongers out there either. Just sincerely looking to help.
