Something along that line makes more sense to me. Perhaps they have some sought of a log of the girls and their so called handlers etc. All is speculation so who knows?
I've seen other reports that the IRS is also involved, as well as the previously mentioned DHS. Prostitution is a state / local crime and the CSP is probably the only agency willing to comment to local news agencies. The Feds, like DHS, FBI, and IRS can care less about that stuff, but they're part of the visit.
Driving a pimped girl across state lines is trafficking, and illegal immigration are both Federal crimes the DHS handles. The IRS looks for money laundering and according to local witnesses are also on the scene. There may be organized crime links being investigated as well, I wouldn't be surprised if the FBI is also involved.
One of the local witnesses stated there were locksmiths and safe crackers brought in by the Feds.
More important.
Other than STG, where are the EB girls going to start popping up at now?
Possibly back in Brazil and Venezuela.
The morning timing for a raid doesn't make sense as a raid for prostitution when most dancers haven't even arrived at the club yet and it may not have even been open.
They are probably going for the bigger fish, as in the club and the owners for promoting / allowing the activity, as well as the potential tax / financial crimes.
The morning timing for a raid doesn't make sense as a raid for prostitution when most dancers haven't even arrived at the club yet and it may not have even been open.
I have heard a completely different story from a friend of mine that spoke to one of the bouncers from EB that just happened to be at Shea's restaurant in Manchester on Friday evening. My friend had heard about the news of EB and was talking to someone about it, and that person just happened to point out that one of the EB bouncers was there. So my friend went over to the EB bouncer guy and asked him about what happened. He stated that it had nothing to do with prostitution but with a murder that was committed by someone. The family of the person who was killed was trying to sue both Shea's and EB. It seems the guy had stopped at both places around the time the murder happened. It makes no sense why Shea's would be involved in any way, but that is what he claimed.
My best guess as to why the FBI and IRS are involved, is that it might be some kind of organized crime situation. That would explain why they might be looking at financial crimes if the guy was somehow tied to EB in some kind of way and the murder just led them to the club somehow. It sounds like some kind of fantastical Sporanos level stuff. But, why make up such a sensational story, when the easy explanation is the sex trafficking one. Also why even try to mention Shea's restaurant at all, unless this murder investigation is what is really going on. Sex trafficking might be just part of the reasons they are going after EB, but it might not be the whole picture based on what my friend heard from this bouncer. It would also explain the odd morning raid before they opened. The girls and their activity might not be the real target, but could be related to whatever charges they want to bring against whomever is involved.
It could also just be a bunch of bullshit, but it kind of makes sense if my theory about some kind of organized crime thing is going on. Other people here seem to think some of that kind of activity is related to this situation The news story could also be a bunch of disinformation that they might be putting out as they go after the bigger fish. That would also explain why someone here posted in the Harford strip clubs forum that another article says "the business is not the main focus of the investigation, but, rather, that a "secondary investigation" is taking place there".
I guess we will find out what really happened eventually, it is still early.

I don't suppose this will bring about any improvements in the services.
I have stayed away for years due to the poor reviews and BS related to the lap dances. If this was just a pay-for-play investigation, why now? They could have had to goods on that investigation at any point during the last 20 years.
EB's license to operate has been suspended by the town for 30 days.

If I am remembering correctly I believe something similar happened to 2041 Club in Meriden where at that time everything was on vhs tapes and when they were raided all of that was taken into evidence.
Stay safe guys.

Lucky's
I don't know if anyone was aware but apparently Lucky's in Vernon has reopened. A dancer I know told me she is going to be working there.

I always sort of thought it was just a money-laundering operation, since it had so little to offer.
