I think this has helped cause legitimate profiles to over price themselves well above $300 even if they would usually not be in that price range on there. I feel this way because the same girl will accept much less and advertise much less on another site. For example Colombia Lorena advertises $500/ hr on tryst but quotes $300/ hr when you contact her. I don't try to understand that logic.

I'm reflecting on 40 some years of mongering. Thinking about the amount of money I spent. But also thinking how easy it used to be. In the late 90's and into the 2000's it was so easy to drive around this city and pick up a streetwalker and get a $20 blow job. Sure done nights it was a lot of gas but you usually scored. The thrill was in the hunt. And I had a lot of one hit wonder unicorns. Hot girls I'd never see on the streets again or wouldn't answer pages or gave you wrong numbers. I have dozens of stories I could bore you with.

Craigslist came along and you had to little work a little harder, but there were pretty good pickings. I had some really good nights with girls I met on craigslist. Mixture of freebies in there too. Girls needing rent money or food money.

Now it seems like every single thing online is a scam. This girls all say I'll meet you for $120 but you got to pay $40 first. You know that you're never going to hook up for $40 or $120. You know that's never going to happen.

I just miss the days of girls being truthful about their prices, truthful about their services, and not costing $1000 to hook up. I look at the Tryst ads and the Eros ads and I'm just not willing to pay for them. I'm not willing to jump through the hoops of a sugar daddy relationship. Some of this is my own fault, my own unwillingness to play that game. So before you point a finger at me and say those girls are there you just have to be willing to pay, I'm just going to say I'm not going to play the game with them.

The other thing is my body is starting to fail me. Those of you that are getting into your 50's 60's 70's know what I'm talking about. Thats both depressing and realistic. You younger guys enjoy it. Age is a real thing. Anyway, that's just old man shaking his head at the clouds and thinking about what once was and will never be again.

Damn, I feel like I could have written this exact same post HG. But it comes as no surprise that we have had a lot of similar experiences given how long we have both been whoring around Chicagoland. My first time was at one of those old MPs in Lincolnshire when Cheetah and Half Day Inn was still open in 1978. Then did Pandora's in 79. That place was a trip. So many memories of Melrose Park, Elk Grove area, Belvedere, Rockford, and Racine. Not sure if I have been to more Parlors or Baseball / Hockey arenas (both Pro and Minor League) in my life (69 now). My last visit anywhere was maybe week or so before Northside in Racine shut down for good. Probably next few weeks I will dip my toe in for first time and just TOFT because I could use a good massage and if extras it would be a bonus. Just seems the pickings are just tougher to find these days.

Franklin / Melrose / Stone Park were jumping with straight up hoe houses. The 2 places in the 1300 block (I think) of South Cicero ditto.

North Avenue from Halsted to Ashland was like a smorgasbord.

I recall a place in Old Town called the Crystal Pistol which was also a great time.

Definitely miss those days.

A couple of Sundays ago I went down the Reddit rabbit hole. I had not been on Reddit for sex for a couple of years. It really has become an area for scammers. I went down the rabbit hole and now you guys don't need to.

I traded messages with a few girls who in the second message would ask what ZIP Code I lived in. Or what side of the city I lived in. They would say they lived on a street 6 to 10 blocks away from me. Then they would send a menu and say that they needed a deposit before they would see me. Or they would list "west loop" on their ad, but suddenly be "staying at Grandmas house" on the north side.

I did trade messages with somebody who I think was real, but very new to the escort / sugar, daddy thing. Didn't quite understand or know things worked. She really kept dragging things out and not responding to messages and when she we finally did have a longer chat interaction, It was so obvious that she just didn't know what it meant to actually meet somebody in a hotel or at their apartment for a set up amount of money. Long story short she wanted $350 for an hour to meet at her place in Schaumburg. But she was imposing rules and restrictions in the chat and I thought this is not going to go anywhere. I ended IP deleting the chat and my profile.

Most of the profiles have OF accounts they want you to join. Some do meetups but it's a lot of hoops to jump thru and a of course you need to buy content.

It seems like the best option is hooking up with another couple who wants a dude to tag team with his wife or girlfriend. But I speculate you'd have better luck with that on Fetlife. The other issue is that most of the women who do seem like they're real through ChicagoR4 R are young and are looking for young hung guys. I am neither of those things. The ChicagoFinder or whatever that sub is called is clearly all fakes.

I remember going to a place one time in Lyons after hitting a few of the strip bars. Then few weeks later they ALL got raided and shut down. About year later the places in Melrose got hit. That's when I just kept to the old-reliable Belvedere, GT at triangle in Rockford, Belvedere, or Northside Spa in Racine. Always prefer massage and L1 and AMPs were becoming hit or miss. Everyone has been either a fake, flaker, or a scammer. I think there are just so many options available to those who post that you'll rarely be the person they decide on unless you're the most hung and attractive. And there are a lot of single men on there. Too much supply and not enough demand tbh. If you're bi, that probably helps quite a bit as well.

That all started to change before and after the 1996 Dem Convention at the United Center. Watching Madison change from Skid Row to what it is now is just mind boggling.

Arresting Johns and impounding cars put a big dent into the number of guys looking. Gentrification of Wicker Park and Bucktown pushed them further West. Same with Lakeview.

I think that is why I'm just amazed that the only real active stroll talked about is 5th Ave. The City has managed to completely rid itself of streetwalkers in most areas. Except for the occasional unicorn.

I also hit many of those bars in Lyons, Cicero, Stone Park. I was leaving Smokers Health Club on Mannheim late at night when the news came out Richard Pryor had been burned in a bad fire. Strange how you remember certain events like that.

Obviously Im well aware that the rise of the interweb had a lot to do with all this. Most of what we knew about sex workers and clubs was word of mouth, underground newspapers or magazine ads, or just driving around. The internet made it easier for us to find each other, find them, or for them to advertise their services. Aldo made them lazy because they didnt have to hit the streets.

Did dinner, few other drinks and spent about two hours at her apartment before she drove me back to Hotel. Met my buddies and got the why this "only happen to you" quip. Sometimes blind squirrels find acorns.
