Tipping is a good way to encourage better service if you plan to repeat. If you find yourself a "regular", you'll probably reap the benefit of some pretty good discounts in the long run. I know I sure have. But if you're really that tight on money you're better off picking up a SW for 40-50 beans.

So in effect, I was raising the price without any better service.

I think the waitress and escort mentalities are very different.

Generally $1. 2 is the highest. 1. 5 is a lot of money and you are not guaranteed great service.
