True she is a regular poster on CL. Have seen her post various pictures over the course of say 6 months to a year so I believe she is who she says she is as far as looks. A while back there was a flair up between her and another "somebody" on CL. Various accusations were passed back and forth , one was that she had Hepatatis or something of the sort, and" knew she shouldn't be working". Addittionally I have seen negative press on CL about her as far as reviews. But not many. I have her on the "do not mess with her" list. Sorry I'm taking no chances. YVMV

She probably was legit. But VERY SMALL town. Working girl. Gets busted. Then LEO posts similar ad to get the guys. That is fairly typical for a small town.

I would just warn you guys that the boys in blue really don't draw them into such distinction while they are busting you. I did not incriminate myself yet they still busted in and slapped the cuffs on then proceeded to tell me that they "knew" why I was there and that essentially craigslist is only for one purpose, and why else would you come to a small town? I would just warn you that you can't rely on police to follow good practice when doing investigation. These guys will use any sliimy trick they can, just to throw the book at you. At the end of the day, all they are out to do is get a few arrests, and a few convictions, and more revenue for their city. Yes its really all just about the money guys! They will drive you right to the ATM and tell you to unload the cash you will wonder if you are getting hustled by a crime ring, but no its just the good ol' law enforcement of the US of A.

The decoys will try to bait you in. If you don't ask for it they will try to slip the words into your mouth, and get you agreeing to something.

Remember if it seems suspicious at all, it is suspicious for a reason! Watch for clues, like being delayed. You show up and she needs more time, all of a sudden she needs to use the shower, or she needs to make a quick errand. Figure out what the room number is and watch it for a bit. I was an idiot because they delayed and I parked far out instead of close up, otherwise I would of seen the guy they just busted walking out. Seeing condoms is a big, big 'no-go', if a girl announces she is ' a prostitute get up and walk away. I would suggest you do no talking about much of anything. If she is legit things should proceed, to some sort of a physical check. If not then they will sit there gabbing about activities trying to get you to verbalize something. YOu should be ready to say NO! , and walk out. I think thats the biggest problem with getting scammed and getting LE-scammed. You get to that point where you really don't think of NO as an option. What the hell do you do? Go to court and fight? Take the rap? Its a Class C Misdimeanor, 500 dollar fine and or up to 60 days in Jail. So you are left with few options. To fight it, generally will require a lawyer even if you are innocent and they got nothing on you. Well thats going to cost a small fortune as we know legal fees are not cheap. Show up to court and you could get jail time as well. Take the rap and you got a permenant record of soliciting. I'm just saying you don't want to end up to this point there are no good options.

First and formost I would say avoid new unknown girls on craigs like the plague. I would say look for sources other than craigs for ladies. As for the street, I would say be careful there as well. You can get pullled over just for having a known SW in your car. I hear they can take your car.

All of this gets me to thinking you are better off just to go up to Canada which is 1 hour away, where the stuff is legal.

Yes, today I was called into the bosses office and lost my good paying job, something that I worked towards for my entire life. I'm sure that they had this in mind when they ran the malicious statements on all major news channels. And well it paid off. I'll be standing in the back of the unemployment line. I will say this once again. Seroiusly do not do this! With clear 20/20 vision and in retrospect, I can only say that in the event that I can beat the charges and get off this bullshit allegation I would still have to say I will never think of doing this again. Just thought I'd warn any of you other guys out there that might think that its all "harmless fun. " Not in this country. Not in this area. Don't be like me. In many ways maybe I am lucky. If another situation was encountered, what would you do differently? Keep quiet and let the girl do the talking? Do you think this is something you can get nailed for even if you don't talk? Would you hang around the parking lot for a while looking for people coming and going, or something else?

Do you think they traced your emails?

Hopefully your lawyer will get you some relief, and you still have a clean record if you apply now for a better job. What did they fire you for? Before any conviction? Doenst sound right.

Unfortunately most places of employment here in Ohio can terminate your position without any known reason; look through all the forms you signed off on when you were hired on and you'll probably see something to similar effect.

That sucks however that you were let go. You probably had a tight-ass for a boss anyway.

I not only sympathize, but I also empathize with you. I ran in that kinda of trouble a couple of years back. I was fortunate in that they did not publicize my face on tv. It was the most embarrassing and humiliating experience of my life. I felt like scum bag, low life because I have never broken any laws or even had a traffic ticket. It is the simple and sometimes stupid choices in life that you make that can haunt you for life. Hence, my paranoia. But life goes on and you start over.

As for your predicament, a good attorney will get your case dropped or reduced to a misdemeanor "disturbing the peace" charge. You can then have you records expunged after one year (provided you stay out of trouble for that year).

As to lesson learned, be very wary of CL. Never discuss anything about sex, money, or money for sex here or anywhere. Finish your business with your provider and you make a donation for time and companionship. Keep it simple.
