The debate on whether Alex qualifies as a Rip Off is arguable.
But I have not detailed all the facts ad the incidences when she set me up, promised me then defrauded me. Let me see, there was a solid week of I'll show up the next day which cost me over 5 large. Then there was the I need gas (again) followed by claims she did not get the Walmart money wire then another wire via CVS (which is her favorite). Then the false pleas to get her car out of impound followed by escalating fees and the promise to visit me every day for three days which never happened. Then the drive there and waiting all day past midnight. Then another trip with a meeting at Panera followed by waiting and no go again. The her emergency avoiding disconnecting her electricity. Followed by a cancellation, then a no show the next day, not answering her phone.
All you want her number. I want her apt number.
Do yourself a favor and do her then drop her at the restaurant and bolt on her.

I have money still owed to me by several that I will never see again. A lot of us call it a gambling, just like at the casinos. Sometimes you hit the jackpot and sometimes you put your losses on your tax return. I of course used to be, and am still somewhat now, a sucker for a good story. If they have freckles most of the time I shoot craps and hope I win. Sometimes I am paid pack with a royal flush. I am very cautious these days and have a set limits to what I will donate before performance. I once lent out some larger bills than I wanted to a stripper but made a promissory note as part of the deal. I took her between the sheets once, more times were expected but never came to fruition, and then to court, thus winning both ways.
So if you sincerely hope someone gets his money back, then a true monger friend would: make a date for dinner; bang the shit out of her first; take her to a nice place for dinner after the fun; drop her off at the door while you park the car; drive away and call NotDave and give him the money over beer and titties. Amount. Hey everybody, knock yourself out with how much or how little you're willing to spend. But if anyone gets the expectation that they can get money with only a promise of services and get away without providing said services (and not get in trouble for reneging), because it's worked before, they're probably going to keep doing it.
And if you keep providing said funds with merely an IOU, and getting burned, then you're not learning. Nor are you helping reform the guilty party.
