So I tried this again and here's what I found. I cleared the filters (reset all) and then set the location and distance (use the maximum 1000 miles to be safe). Save this search criteria with a name (e. G. "User Name Search") for future use.

I find that this approach does NOT find partial matches. It will only find exact matches. So "steph" will find nothing. But "stephieg69" will work (assuming you have the right location and distance). In other words, it will always find either zero results or one result.

Thanks to members for persisting on this because this is very helpful when trying to find someone by user name even though you never messaged them.
