SANTA ANA – A man was hospitalized today after being hit on the head with a beer bottle during a robbery outside a 7-Eleven store, police said.

The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. Thursday at 103 South Harbor Boulevard, near First Street, said Santa Ana police Cmdr. Jeff Owens.

The initial investigation revealed the victim – carrying a 12-pack of beer - was exiting the store when two men walked up to him and asked him for a beer, Owens said.

The victim gave each man one beer. But as he turned away, one of the men struck him on top of the head with a beer bottle, Owens said.

The men grabbed the victim's beer and ran away.

The victim was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, Owens said, but is expected to recover.

A description of the robbers was not immediately available.

No arrests have been made.

I asked her if she just woke up or something and she said that she had spent the night at a guys house.
