What time do the ladies show up on Saturday afternoon? I haven't been there in a while?
What time do the ladies show up on Saturday afternoon? I haven't been there in a while?
Seeing that this Saturday is the end of the month, they should be in there early. You might be able to cut some good deals with the girls that need cash for rent.
As of this morning when I drove down that way headed to the flea. Now it's been a few weeks since I drove all the way down to lake so I just noticed it. I know recently, especially since they got into major construction right in front of the place, I have seen nothing in or out of there or even in the parking lot. So the regulars that hang on heim might have some info to pass along to the group here. I am just wondering if something went down inside and they decided to pull their liquor license or possibly ownership just gave up with all that construction right in front for what seemed like months. Thanks for any help. Peace and out. Always roll safe. Uncle is out. Stosh P.S. I will also scroll through the thread more to see if it was reported and if so I apologize.

They were never able to recover from getting their adult license pulled so they couldn't have any dancers. It was depressing going in there after that. All they had in there were Mannheim road street hookers. They were disgusting. But I will say, I had a lot of good times in that place going back to the early 2000's. The Mayor really fucked them over. Sad.

Would have details. Yes once their adult license was pulled they were just keeping it on life support have not been cruising much there since the lock down. Stopped by my friend's car wash to check my oil and I did notice darts boys getting antsy more meaning where usually there is only that one cruiser now two or three.
So what are all the Melrose park girls doing for money during the lockdown? The hot ones always said they only dance at the club. Well, now that there is no club. Are they open to private viewings or just waiting for the stimulus checks from uncle Sam?

I'm sure that if any of them has your number, you will be hearing from her. Stay safe.

Drove down Mannheim to reminisce, what a ghost town. Drove by Playpen, there's some remodeling going on. The front of the building looks like it's been redone. It will be interesting to see if it re-opens & what type of business it will be. Their shut down was so abrupt. I was in there about a week before it happened (late October) there was no talk of closing. It was discussed on the board back in Dec or Jan but no conclusions were reached.
I was in J's a couple weeks before the statewide shutdown. Was talking to one of the girls that's been around for a while. We were talking about Playpen among other places. She asked me if I knew Kat. I said yes but hadn't seen her in a long time. Apparently she recently passed away. For those of you that don't remember her, she'd been around for several years. Very quirky, liked to dress up in cat themed clothes (Hello Kitty etc). She was overall a decent person & battled some type of health issue (kidney / liver or something like that). It eventually caught up to her, very sad. She was fun to hang with & gave nice dances.
Speaking of the past, anyone like to reminisce about earlier days in that area? At least until things open up again?

I saw her working at J's maybe 6-8 months ago. She also would hang out at Playpen & descreetly get friendly while sitting with you at the bar. She had it rough, I believe she was at one time, working in the medical profession as a nurse or CNA. Her medical condition made it tough for her to work consistantly so she had to give it up. She was fun to hang with, she'll be missed.

I remember being a little put off by her when I first met her at Playpen but ended up looking forward to seeing her. A little Gracie Allen-ish but ultimately a real sweetheart.

Kat had been around the Mannheim lingerie scene for a decade or so. She was a curvy dark hair, medium height, I'm guessing latina. She carried a hello kitty backpack & wore a hat with kitten ears. She could carry on an intelligent conversation. Gave touchy feely dances. Only issue is she could be a bit persistant at times but not to the point where I felt the need to leave. She worked at Playpen back before they got their entertainment license pulled, when it was still fun.

Sorry I have been off the street as well with the shutdown I have been staying more up this way on my bicycle and just hitting groceries as needed or atms in the area. I also would be very interested with a potential remodel and what would open there. Possibly gambling with the state loosening up, however of course with the shutdown entertainment service businesses are going to be hurtin for certain for quite a while. I am just waiting for the fleas to open back up because when they shutdown I was toast! Course go figure an essential business is a liquor store, however a place to get a haircut is not! My old man hair has not been this long since I was in college. Yep last century when and where dinosaurs pooped! Stosh out. Be safe and well all.
Playpen is definitely closed. They tore down the enclosed front porch area where you were able to smoke and put a for rent sign on it. Good luck with that. Nobody is going to be stupid enough to open a new business now. Might not even be a bar that moves in next. Looked up the address on google and it was sold for $150,000. Not sure if their liquor license was included with the sale. Makes me wish that I would have bought it and opened my own place 😂.
