On July 5, 2008, the Associated Press (AP) released a story titled: Secret U.S. mission hauls uranium from Iraq. The opening paragraph is as follows:
The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program - a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium - reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.
We have been hearing from the mainstream media and Democrats in congress more than five years how, "Bush lied." Somehow, that slogan loses its credibility now that 550 metric tons of Saddam's yellowcake, used for nuclear weapon enrichment, has been discovered and shipped to Canada for its new use as nuclear energy.
American troops found the 550 metric tons of uranium in 2003 after invading Iraq. They choose not to disclose this information and sit on the uranium itself, for fear of terrorists attempting to steal it. It was guarded and kept safe by American military in a 23,000-acre site with large sand beams surrounding the site. During time of war there are some things that the government needs to keep secret from the public. Any inforamtion that is released to the public will also find its way to the enemy.
This is vindication for the Bush administration, having been attacked mercilessly by the mainstream media and Democrats in congress, many who felt that their careers would be helped by their own country losing the conflict in Iraq. Now that it is proven that President Bush did not lie about Saddam's nuclear ambitions, one would think the mainstream media would report the story? Not really. Because by doing so it would show that one of the many reasons Bush gave to attack Iraq, and the only one that appeared not to be valid, was in fact true.

Trying to bring this forum back into the 'humorous' line. Though we could make a claim that politics is a joke, but unfortunately, it is no laughing matter and it ain't no photo.
So, LBA, did you ever tell us what WAS wrong with those pictures? I can't find your promised response. :D

"Yellowcake uranium is a commonly traded commodity used for nuclear power generation. It is not enriched and cannot be used without first going through a complicated enrichment process, he said, but because of the unstable nature of Iraq, the United States and the Iraqi government decided it should be moved out of that country. Iraq has no nuclear power generating plants.
"In his January 2003 State of the Union speech, U.S. President George W. Bush said, "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."This single sentence, known now as the infamous "Sixteen Words,"would become a crucial justification of the administration's decision to conduct an invasion of Iraq less than three months later." But guess what happened later
"The administration later conceded that evidence in support of the claim was inconclusive and stated, "These sixteen words should never have been included." The administration attributed the error to the CIA.In mid-2003, the U.S. government declassified the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate, which contained a dissenting opinion published by the U.S. Department of State stating that the intelligence connecting Niger to Saddam Hussein was "highly suspect," primarily because State Department's intelligence agency analysts did not believe that Niger would be likely to engage in such a transaction due to a French consortium which maintained close control over the Nigerien uranium industry.
