And was here in March as well for one day. I skipped both times as the texts they sent me set off all sorts of red flags.

If you are curious about who was busted, Kenosha news didn't publish the names, but if you google "kenosha county eye", a quasi news site, you can click on their story. It has the list of guys they busted. One is a fireman and another a lawyer. Everyone else must be regular people. The story speculates that it was set up on facebook, which shows that the 'reporters' have no clue about how this stuff works. I guess it doesn't need to be said, but be careful out there.

They aren't criminal (felony or misdemeanor). The kicker here is they arrest you to get a mugshot so you have an arrest record. In reality, it is totally unnecessary to do that. That is just part of their shame tactics. The second part of using a citation is it is virtually impossible to fight (it's not easy or inexpensive). There is no "reasonable doubt" in citation case. Most folks pay the fine (revenue generation) and move on. They know this and this is an easy money grab for them.

The information then they send to news and crime sites, to make it look like they are fighting "crime". All the while, shaming the John's. Much easier to go after the John's than the drug dealers or real criminals in the area. How do I know about this? I watched this all happen to a coworker of mine and turned out to be a "major" problem. He lost his job, visitation to his kids (for a while) and ended up hanging himself. All because he got arrested in a sting over text messages. Think about it. He didn't commit the crime he just "discussed it over text". It was a shitty way to lose a friend and totally unnecessary.

In decade or two (possibly more) we'll look back at this time, of prosecuting the consumers of the worlds oldest profession, and say what a waste of time and money. Guaranteed this will be legalized and taxed, much like what is happening to marijuana all over the country.
