Guys,
I am new to SA and don't have a car yet to explore the SW ave. I have been on CL for the past two days, and it seems all postings are flagged for removal. Am I looking in the wrong place? (W4M-casual encounters). I will get a motorcycle this weekend, but don't know how that will work out on Guadalupe and Hamilton.
Any suggestions?

I'm new to San Antonio and am interested in checking out all that is to offer here. I've done a few strip clubs and have had some success in at least getting some digits and setting up some meets. Not sure if I want to try to SW scene but would like some advice. I'm also thinking of going to Nuevo Laredo but don't want to go by myself the first time. Has anyone here been there before?

Why would you think that is not advisable? Do you really believe the media hype?? I was just down there last weekend, as well as several friends from another website. We had absolutely no problems. Friday night, we were even waved right through to BT by the police and not even searched. Saturday night we were searched, but only patted down and asked if we had any drugs or knives, like we would say yes.
I say that yes, Mexico can be dangerous... if you look for trouble. All this stuff with the gangs and such is going on, but I didn't even have anybody down there look at me funny. We hung out in the Downtown bars all day Friday and Saturday and went to Boystown all night too.
Why would you try to scare someone out of going to Nuevo Laredo when it is just as dangerous cruising the streets of San Antonio or Houston, or anywhere else for that matter looking for street ho's? I just don't understand why you guys listen to the media hype and talk yourself out of a good time. Especially all you lucky bastards in San Antonio that are only 2.5 hours away.
Huey is right. I live on the Border, McAllen, and go to Mexico on a regular basis. Stay Street smart and you will be OK. The most? A Mordida, "a little bite" from a Cop. Of course, this level of relative safety only applies if you are NOT looking for trouble or just plain stupid. But this category always have had problems in Mexico.
Buddy, Ive been at this game a LOOOOOONG time and been lots-o-places. (yes, i lived on the borhder once upon a time). I suggest you stop whining about my "wanting to scare someone away" and start listening to and taking into consideration good advice. If you want to discard it, then thats your call, but stop whining about the warning.
As far as hype, only 1/10th of what goes on has actually been reported as ANYONE that lives in mcallen knows.

OK, whatever man (skeeered). I'll just suggest then, that if anybody needs to ask any questions about Mexico that they go over to ISG and ask them on the Mexico boards there. Apparently, some people believe that you will get your head cut off and mailed back home as soon as you cross the border. Ask the people that go there and live there, not the ones that are too scared to leave their own city, which really isn't any safer anyway.
Ha, just came back from Matamoros. There's a lot of 'fear mongering', not just regular mongering, when it comes to the borders. I've almost been carjacked twice in Houston (just driving down 1960), a few times in SA, been shot at while driving through S. Side in SA while mongering, and more than a few I'm-going-to-get-shanked-by-this-***** moments in the states- and I'm street smart. Out of the dozens of times I've been to Mex, up and down the rgv, never had even a remote bit of trouble nor seen any. Just use common sense, you'll be fine. BT in Reynosa still has some good business, on a scale of safety, Laredo is below Reynosa, Progresso, or Matamoros, but if stick to doing your business, no one will mess with you. Most of the brothels are owned by people who don't 'allow' others to mess with them.
Didn't mean to stir the pot by asking about NLBT. I'm well aware of the situation. But I feel fairly safe going espcially w/ someone who knows the ropes. Didn't realize that looking for SW was that dangerous either. I've always felt safe cruisin the streets mongerin. I just try to be smart about it. On another note where is a good bar on the NW side to pick up women. I would like 2 try that out too. I'm middle aged and don't like the teens and 20s hangouts.
True BH; I have told several ppl that I was going to go to NL; and they were like WTF; LOL I even told my mom that I was planning to go out there when she wanted me to take her to a casino one weekend and she was almost in tears!

I will be coming into San Antonio in a few weeks and will be staying down town (Hyatt) I have looked at the forums but I don't know the area well. Anyone have a recomendation for an AMP or other MP that is in walking distance of there?

Interesting. I will check out Twenty Grand. Also, I appreciate this dialogue about Mexico, however, can anyone tell me more about San Antonio?
