One of the worst things about the internet is that so much of the information that you find is dated. Kuhio hasn't been an active location for quite a while. Oahu has a huge basalt dome where water has accumulated for thousands of years of rainfall seepage and in many place have open underground lava tubes spread throughout the whole island. Often many have pockets that store water at different levels, so as the water table rises and falls, these pools are intermixed. So long as no contamination collects, it is fine, but as soon as a lighter contaminate like oil or gasoline seeps within the system, no matter how much water is siphoned off to rid the system of contamination, these lava cave pools will always contaminate the rising water table, thus the whole aquifer becomes contaminated as well. Will may take decades before the water is "safe" to drink.
However in order to minimize the damage the Navy has already contaminated the well they tap into, the City BWS should pump their adjacent well with water to prevent seepage of the Navy contaminated well, while the NAVY continues to draw water to keep a negative pressure and use that water to irrigate its golf courses and lawns. No drinking, this level should be closely watched by the City not the Navy who has a proven record of coverups.

They will have to either repair or relocate since we are in a very tactical position in the Pacific and we need the ability to refuel ships and planes in the event of war. I predict this will be a very costly affair.

Judging from the thousands illegal aerials last year over the Ewa Plains, Popo could make millions in one night just handing out citations. Could do 45 on one street, in one hour, LOL. Now they can go after homeowner--and they should. Easy.
