Same experience just yesterday
When you're younger you don't value time and think you have lots of it to waste. This of course changes drastically as you get more responsibilities in life. Drove over an hour for someone that was starting to become a consistent repeat. But this time was a disaster. She asked me to stop and buy her something on the way too, which I grudgingly did. We made agreements the night before and everything sounded fine over text all the way until I was only a few minutes away. Then excuses about family affairs (which I'm not even sure are true) that are none of my business. I stayed around running errands for OVER TWO HOURS and then she blows up on me for suggesting she leave her family affairs for a few minutes. Told me to never contact her again, which I responded that I happily agreed to. Don't be fooled, in reality you're NOTHING in their eyes. Just a step for them to get their next hit or whatever else they fancy.
Some of these providers will pay some lip service but when things aren't going smooth, they will just be looking out for their own back. Stay safe.
The big difference here is that it's part of the job. They will expect a percentage to flake out on them, not the other way around. We are the playing clients and instead, we are wasting not only gas money, which is like gold nowadays. But, it's our time. Can't get back time. I don't know about the rest of you Mongers. But, time is not something I enjoy wasting. Ultimately, it's their loss of revenue for not showing up. We can always find something elsewhere. Unfortunately, there isn't much out there that's reliable anymore.
