Some possible hotel variables
If hotel or motel management is watching mongers they're either getting complaints from customers or pressure from Uncle LEO, or perhaps a bit of both.
I've visited various providers over the years at a couple of mid-level motels a block or two from Springfield Town Center and have never encountered any difficulty or questions. The same is true for an extended stay place about a mile or so from the mall. Of course, I do my best to go in and out just like any other guest or visitor without calling attention to myself.
Regarding the dumpy place on Broad Street in Falls Church, I avoid any provider staying there. That motel has been a favorite target of the local police in recent years.
There are a few variables that could be affecting a particular hotel's hobby (friendly, neutral, unfriendly) environment. It could be something that comes from hotel management or it could be something that stems from LE efforts.
On one work trip, for example, I came down one morning for the hotel breakfast and a uniformed cop was at the front desk showing the staff a book of mug shot pics. I got some coffee and, after LE left, I casually asked the desk clerk if there was a problem at the hotel. She said it was just a routine exercise for LE to make the rounds of local hotels to see if known providers had checked in.
Another time I was trying to find a particular room at an extended stay place and the numbers were hard to see. I was driving slowly and the hotel manager (or clerk) came outside, shouted that he knew what I was doing, and said he would be calling the police. I just kept driving calmly, exited the parking lot, and texted my apologies to the provider. Looking back, what's clear from that experience is that any behavior that sets you apart from the majority of the regular hotel guests has the potential to arouse suspicion.
Most hotels have so many guests coming and going that a monger won't usually have a problem. Of course, some providers aren't very discreet and might attract extra attention from staff or complaints from other guests. And visiting very late at night, depending on the hotel and layout, can be problematic. As always, looking like you belong and know where you're going is the best strategy.
On the rare occasions I've been approached in the lobby by hotel staff I always pretend I'm looking for the nearest restroom. That usually takes care of things but, if not, I'll say I'm waiting for a friend. In the (very) rare circumstance that the staff member tries to question me further, I feign annoyance and tell them that I'll just wait outside. Familiarity with the hotel is always helpful but sometimes good hobby-sense and experience is what gets you through. It's also worth noting that just because a hotel is unfriendly at one point in time doesn't mean things won't be fine the next week, the next day, or even the next shift.
Happy Hunting and stay safe!

Backpage "wannabees"
Yea, BP is back up but hardly any mongers are going there yet.
The Asians are dominating the ads and maybe they hope they're getting an early jump but.
Hardly no mongers are going there right now. I don't see them becoming relevant for at least.
Months but I could be wrong.
I have alexa traffic rank tab on my computer and I can tell how sites are ranked as far as traffic is concerned.
BP = no data yet. Which means like hardly anyone is going there except the escorts that post there.
I hope they're not paying for it because right now it's not worth it at all.
Here are the latest ranking as of now.
Note: The lower the number the more visitors they get per month.
For example Skip the games is the 3090th visited site in the USA.
When CL pulled their adult ads BP became the biggest player in the lower-to-mid tier of the ad market. It's my recollection that they were so dominant that nobody could really pull market share away from them. After their downfall the market became so fragmented that it's hard to see how any one site will be able to duplicate BP's dominance in the future.
Still, for any single site to rise above the others, they'll have to provide superior value for both providers and clients. IIRC, basic ads for providers were free or very low cost, with upgrades available for more $. That made it easy for girls to enter the biz and encouraged a constant flow of new providers. At a minimum they'll have to attract providers and give them decent customer service. From what several women have told me, most sites only care about the $ and anything after that is pretty bad.
From the client's point of view, BP offered pretty comprehensive coverage of the US and also a decent search function. The way NYC worked is a good example, IMHO. In just a few minutes you could check out escort and bodyrub options in Midtown East, UES, UWS, Brooklyn, etc. All the current sites have either no search capability or a really bad one. The backpage (dot) co site gave me results from Atlanta when I tried to seach for Midtown in Manhattan.
So it seems to me that the market is wide open and ripe for a dominant player to arise, but they've got to actually be GOOD. About the other sites in your list, they all have serious flaws which makes it hard to see them pushing out the others. So unfortunately, unless something dramatic happens, I think were looking at a fragmented ad market for the foreseeable future.
