I December 2017 voting along party lines the FCC repealed neutrality, before that all ISP's were required to treat all packets the same, didn't matter what they were.

The then chair of the FCC used to be a lobbyist for Verizon trying to repeal NN.

Now ISP's can filter content as they see fit.

Verizon blocks us, they prohibit you for accessing this content.

They had the fucking balls to call this "Restoring Internet freedom" the didn't restore anything, they gave the cable companies the right to decide what you can and cannot access.

I'd switch to a different ISP.

FYI this problem cropped up a year or so ago online using multiple browsers.

The solution was to change your setting that this was a "trusted" website to access, after that the problem went away for me and several others. So check and see if you can get into those settings on your cells browser and allow access, it's being blocked because it's an offshore web location, so it's suspicious to the browser.

And my carrier is Verizon.

I chave the same problem with Spectrum mobile as they use the Verizon network.

My work around is using the Hidemyass VPN service, as it is free and then you have access again.

Has anyone ever received a shake down text message from an 818 number here?

I recently received one this morning (I know. Stupid me for using my actual phone and not a burner) but the texter sent my home address and info on relatives. They were all in Spanish though. I assume this is some Mexican dude trying to shake me down.

I was planning on not responding or possibly informing them I'm a Second Amendment gun carrying citizen and have relatives in the SDPD and Homeland Security.

Any advice would be helpful. Leaning towards no response but wanted to get your ideas. I'll be switching to a burner shortly. What an ass.

I have couple of burner phones and numbers. I replied back to it with different numbers stating I'm with a government agency and I know where they are located. Usually happens when I go see a provider and I get catfished and I don't go to the meetup or the deposit scam. I also tell them I'm with A cartel and don't be doing business in the area.

A burner Google voice account is your friend.

Any engagement you have with them will only drag you further down a Rabbit hole.

There's a lot of internet database sites that do reverse phone number searches, and will provide some personal info related to the searched phone number.

(EX: your current & previous address, all other phone numbers associated to you, and the names of your relatives).

It'a an amateurish attempt to extort you, because they obviously don't have anything real to use against you.

But they do have enough info to make your life a Nightmare if you provoke them.

First & foremost: Congrat's on your continued sobriety, A2! I sincerely mean this.

And I have to commend you, for giving this guy a very long leash so he could have his say on this subject, and then pretty much let him self-destruct on his own.

And no, this guy didn't persuade me that addiction, is a "weakness. " < However, I did used to strongly feel this way (that addiction was a weakness).

These past few years, however, I've witnessed so many people (ladies working in this hobby & family / friend's) sadly succumb to their seemingly possessed addictions. I tried helping a few of these people offering them support in every way imaginable. But nothing I could do or say, could alter their course / self-destructive behavior. Even my own brother, nothing can seem to make him see how badly alcohol is / had destroyed his life, and he's already hit rock bottom and almost died, once already.

Because of these people, I've had a change of heart, compassion and understanding.
