There is no way to tell the difference. Several days later I get a threatening text from a different number telling me I need to contact them to work things out in person with them or they would work things out with me in their own way.

I never responded. The specific text that I got I posted (I think) in this board.

Now, if you get the *same* "treatment", we have our answer.

I had not contacted anyone else in the days before or the days after the original exchange asking for a deposit. I attempted to report the account to Tryst, but they denied my "speculation" and the account is still clearly operating.

My approach has changed as a result. If I see a number listed and the same number is WhatsApp I assume it's a scam.
