There are a few bars open in kaliha. Drove to town and none are opened.

Made the rounds to check it all out and for the most part it was business as usual. Hopefully they remain open however I have a feeling that someone will blow the whistle on them soon. It is my understanding that there is a distinct difference with the restaurant license and insurances with a bar and restaurant. Somehow the bars think they deserve to stay open for business. I for one hope they remain open, just for survival sake alone.

Aloha Beer Company, Waikiki Brewing Company, Di's Karaoke, Hibiscus Club, 8 Fat Fat 8, Aqua Lounge, Club Blue Star, Club Wave, Emerald City and Club Bonita.
Closed by the City on Saturday night.
So one of the hostesses at Splash said all the girls that work behind the bar are 40+? Not that it matters, most still look good. Anyone know Kate / Katie?
Chinese: late 20's is rare item. Early 30's are babies.
Korean: early 30's is rare. Late 30's-early 40's are babies.

Thai, Philippinas: early 40's are rare. Mid 40's are babies.
Isn't there a Japanese bar girl here that's kinda popular named Tomoko?
Get young Thai and Pinay bar girls, they were at the former Thai Angels. Now you'll find the Thai's at T. A. Station or Charm 3. The Pinays are at Cleopatra.

As we can not find real Japanese working girls in America (they earn more in japan, so no need to jump to America as post ww2 Japanese women had to give service to foreign men), young pretty Koreans had better do it in Korea. Honestly most k women in America are not-well sold items in Korea.
Yes most juicy girls are old.
Younger generation are not that into strip club, buy me drink bars as their parents or grandparents did. And gen z go for internet matching. Even in western Europe, Local new hotties without visa issue don't like traditional brothels.
I think old styled AMP and huge chain of gentlemen's clubs have been in declining hills for years. Coronavirus just smashed the last nail on the coffins earlier than expected.
This job will never disappear but in different supply chain system. Uber hit taxis, ebooks killed paper magazines, but we still have more driving and reading service, just like that.

I already noticed that the younger generation Koreans (usually 35 yo and under) don't want to be associated with the older generations night lifle scene (Kbg, AMP, etc). The peak was maybe late 2000's, early 2010's (I'm talking about the scene here in Hawaii, not mainland or Korea) As for the Japanese, I agree, they never tried to make a stake in that industry outside of Japan, where that industry flourishes. I mean besides anime / manga, cars, video games, etc, what do most people think about Japan? JAV, hostess bars, and soaplands. I hope Japan never becomes like Thailand and the Philippines where expats go there for mostly you know what. I noticed most of the younger girls in Hawaii (usually Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipinos and Thais) are using the independent route, "legit" MT places or hidden AMP like Hunnewell and Pac Heights houses.
Sidenote: Did you see that YT channel Asian Boss had an interview with Japan's top hostess? If I remember correctly she makes in excess of $40-50 k a month and really good months she can make $70-100 k a month. No wonder so many get into the industry over there, I know she's like the 1% that will make that kind of money but that won't stop the others from trying.

I think her name was Bonnie if I recall correctly. She mentioned mamasan kept anyone over 40 behind the bar and under 40 on the floor. Regardless of age, most of them still look good, I wouldn't want a serious relationship with any of them (due to them only going after money) but still nice to look at and talk to.
That's 4 weeks of saving up and then action.
Sad to hear Myra is no longer mama at Cleopatra. Her lease ended recently. She has some great tits when she flashes them. Anyone ever played with her?

Well, with any luck, the hostess bars open up again around the time NFL season starts. At this point, it looks like they will still be closed the first week. The bar closure ordinance is being enforced completely arbitrarily. Does the emergency proclamation ordinance specifically shut down class 5 dispensaries but allow class 2 restaurants to remain open? If a sports bar that serves food is considered a "bona fide" restaurant, I don't see why the hostess bars with kitchens can't claim the same. 30% revenue from food seems like an easy threshold to meet. They just got to follow the same rules as every other "restaurant. " got to sit at the booths and be served. Has any of the traditional hostess bars anywhere (besides Maui) dared remain open after the August 8 crackdown?
Were a lot of girls working or skeleton crew?
I drank at Misty Blue (Kay or Jay Mama, I forget) and Starlite (Chris Mama) last night. Both Mamas said that they spoke to LC and got express permission. So I don't have an issue posting here. They understand the rules, I suppose. Skeleton crews for both bars. IMHO, both took similar COVID precautions that I have seen at TJs and Murphy's Bar & Grill. I expect other KBs (who haven't actually been cited or fined) to do their due diligence, talk to LC, and open up. There are a few other bars that I've driven by and seen open (and a few of you have PM'ed me). From what I have seen, there is still a demand for their services. I don't think it is reckless, and I'd feel safer at these establishments than at a private family gathering.
As long as there are no escalating restrictions, at least we have some options for NFL week 1 games in September.
GG.

As of this posting Misty Blue, Arisu and Starlite is open in restaurant mode, even Club Secret is open for food.
Go get some.

Can add Christine's Lounge in Pearl City to the open list. School marm daytime bartender was really strict. Not bad looking, but I really couldn't gauge her age. Good Korean skin. She should dress up in black leather. I'm sure some guys could get into being dominated like that.

GG.
Are any of these bars staying open after 10? Technically they can stay open as late as they want but with no alcohol, but will guys stick around and drink sodas and buy green tea shots for their favorite girls? Personally I think if all the bars open as restaurants, the mayor will close down all restaurants, he's that petty. He really has a thing against bars, I hope he never sets foot in a bar that I'm at or I'd throw my beer at him.

Hostess business doesn't sound smart now. Normal bars in Waikiki have already added up to one million dollar debt now. They had better think about other locals. For a while. The moment when an honest customer confess all openly, all will get fucked up for long. Now civilian watchers are more intimidating than lazy corrupted hpd we all know. It was local watchers that made quarantine breakers caught. Grandma with heavy makeup at night must be recognized very easily.

Ah well. Lockdown in effect 12:01 am Thursday. Got tonight and tomorrow to enjoy your beer at a restaurant / bar for another two weeks. Maybe longer. I'm not confident that the counts and infection rate will go down enough in two weeks. Our gov't seems to take at least a month to determine whether their heads are in their asses, and then much longer to decide to pull them out.

GG.
Come to think about it and how nasty and back stabbing these KBG are taking advantage of guy's good nature emotions only to empty his wallet after leading him on. Now with the bar shutdown, they don't have that money to live beyond their needs when they know another sucker will foot their unnecessary expenses. I have no pity for these sharks who expect to be raking in over $200,000 a year tax free money. AMP girls at least are more respectable, but KBG look down on them.

We come out ahead by using this time to save bucks for the future. They also look down on their hardworking Koreatown cousins because they had the cash, but now are sucking because there is no way to go fishing for new suckas. They really believe they deserve 6 digit bi weekly net income husband without debt cause they think they are so damn beautiful. Seriously? More confident than young miss Hawaii finalists with good family and education LOL. They want more (material things) than anonymous.
Young models in duty. With stone like fake boobs done 30 years ago, and lifted face that still show smiling at others' funeral.
After 20 years they will live on medicaid cause they have always been in poverty by paper when their messed liver need expensive treatment while hard working naive people should struggle ti pay tax for those old trashes.
So much gloom and doom! I beg to differ. If there is anything that I've witnessed in the last few weeks, it is that there is still a sizable demand for KBs. Despite the emergency proclamations and infection concerns, the bars that chose to remain open until Wednesday had what I would consider a decent turnout. From what I saw, the bar counters were full and the booths somewhat occupied. There are currently over 30 KBs on Oahu and even if 50% permanently close after this lock down, that still leaves 15. As long as there are customers, there will be a market. I'm in my early 50's and I predict that there will still be a handful left 20 years from now if I live to see my 70's. Hell, maybe by that time somebody will open a KB museum.
I've seen some recent activity on the "Rememba the Gud Ole Dazs" thread. As we wait for the bars to re-open, let's compile a list of the "Best of" bars / mamas / hostesses that should have a display at the Honolulu KB Museum. Stories sell. Be sure to recount a good memory. And perhaps tie it to a custom, feature, or best practice that current Mamas (and their LVB lurkers) who read this thread can adopt to move on to the next round of KB Survivor.
Here's my entry:
Decade: 2000's.
Bar: London Hub.
Mama: ?
Feature: Best Storage Closet BJ (Kyong).
Personal Narrative: Yes, I was latecomer to the Korean Bar scene. Didn't really see the allure until I was in my mid-30's and had been married (with children) for five years. Was able to sneak out with a battle buddy during a drill weekend for a fun night on the town. He took me to London Hub. The place was packed. Had a good mixture of young, middle-aged, and old hostesses. Good food. Sat together with some young sexy hostesses and had lots of laughs and flirting. Wasn't willing to spend a ton, and so we figured to hit an AMP to relieve our pent up desires. That's when one of the girls pointed out a rather old but well preserved and well endowed Korean woman. Said she could service us for half the price. Kyong took me to the storage closet and gave me the best BBBJCIM of my life. My friend had the other one. I think she was the Mama. Don't remember. Anyway. What a pro. And I could tell she really enjoyed giving it, too. 40 years experience with her technique. She definitely knew what she was doing. Normally, I can't come from a BJ. But she drained me in 10 to 15 minutes. Felt like an eternity. I was still relatively young and had I been fully sober I don't think I would have paid for a granny BJ. But that hit the spot. We stayed at the bar afterwards, drank a few more rounds, and headed back to the armory with happy memories. And I still had money in my wallet.
Sometimes we just need to get our rocks off. If the Mamas had a reliable and willing AMP-type girl who really enjoys what she does and will gladly give customers a $ BJ without hassle or haggle. She could keep her thirsty customers in the bar and be competitive. Heck, the girl could probably make more per hour at the bar turning 4 or 5 customers at $ ea. Rather than one at $$ per hour at an AMP.
GG.
