I'm part of what you might call boat time share where you rent for the season and can choose specific dates. I have never just rented a boat for the day. If you plan on going thru the locks to L Michigan you probably need a license. You can always hire a captain.

Or is this something in-between?[/QUOTE]Sounds to me like she's just trying to play the buzzwords out there in the current cultural consciousness for sympathy and get attention to her GoFundMe. The fact that she's doing this through GoFundMe, and multiples at that, raises a lot of flags of various colors. There are tons of legitimate programs out there to help girls in these situations these days. I'm actually surprised this made it through GFM's gatekeeping as this is a 'goal' with no way to verify its success and no clear destination for the money. Is the suggestion that if she needs $2000 and only raises $1750 she can just keep that money and go right back to escorting?

Especially when there's addiction involved its very hard to make changes in these girls' lives without intense professional help. I got very close with a provider almost a decade ago (lives out of town now, not giving any details) and kept in touch with her through a lot of struggles to the point where I knew her real family. At her low points I would send her dozens of links / numbers, even fill out forms for her, and tell her you're a homeless single mother struggling with addiction with no family support, and probably a victim of sex trafficking if you tell your story right; there are literally bags of money on shelves in your city and state to help with housing, jobs, education, etc if you do the work to get clean and follow through. She would give it lip service in the times where she had her head on straight, but the path of least resistance was always back to the drugs and the street. It took a multi year federal vacation for her to finally be clean long enough and get lots of professional counseling to finally go down the more positive roads.

Anyway, this GoFundMe campaign sounds like a very half assed attempt to make positive change, and the fact that she's working 'rape' wording into it makes it sound like pathetic pandering rather than inspiring sympathy.

Imo some of these situations are so long after the fact it appears that these women have a "handler" of sorts involved in a movement or organization that has several agendas. Really it's pitiful because in some cases it does indeed backfire on the female. Who really knows in these days what the other person is thinking afterwards? I'm sure she could have been raped at various points. For example, she says no Greek and the guy forces his way in, or no bare and he takes off the condom during K9. But mostly she consented to an economic exchange. In B's example above, I have had multiple female friends tell me that they can always sense when a situation is going good and it is going to turn. They want to say "no" but they fear that violence is going to be the response to "no. " Having sex, even though she doesn't want to have sex, is the better of two bad options because the other option is getting hurt physically and then raped. I don't know how to respond to this because I'm not a woman and don't know what that's like. I could say, don't go home with the guy. But what if her spidey senses didn't kick in until she was there?
