I've seen reports that, beginning this fall, Ohio will require registration and proof of age to access adult sites. I'm sure nobody is excited about having their name and personal information on a government-accessible database of people who look at porn. Some sites, like PornHub, have actually stopped serving other states where similar laws have been enacted.
The question is: Has anyone heard whether the law affects only actual porn sites, or will advertising and review sites (like this one) also be affected? Maybe the moderators could weigh in on this if they've heard anything. I would imagine if the law affects this site, they are already working to put the controls in place.
[BLUE]I'm not a lawyer nor have I played one on TV so if there are ny ACTUAL LAWYERS who went to law school, passed the bar, and have a practice that want to tell me if I'm right or wrong please do.
We aren't a porn site, we are a review site which is protected speech. While to content may be about the US there is no part of the site in the US. The owner isn't in nor from the US, the URL isn't registered in the US, and the servers aren't in the US and none of us live in the US. Prostitution is legal in all the countries we have any presence.
If you're uncomfortable use a VPN. If you don't know which to pick then google this term "vpn companies in countries that aren't part of the 14 eyes agreement. There is one that consistantly shows up on the top of all the lists that is based in Lithuania and begins with an N and ends with a D. While this is not an endorsement its the one I personally use.
I wonder if they have an affiliate program.
