The commercial leases in shopping centers have gone up in price dramatically. I try to get to know "The Boss" at places that I go frequently. They are all complaining about sharp increases when the lease renews. One shop, in a very average older shopping center, has increased rents from around $ 1800 to more than $4500 in just 5 years. Part of the increase is due to increases from local management fees that are added to the base rent charges.

Every shop owner I know is upset about what inflation is doing to their businesses. I'm not surprised that these places have become more aggressive about tips because they need to remain competitive on their base prices to get us to come in.

I negotiate to what I consider to be fair. I also want proper service so I'm paying a little more than what was normal.

However, part of the problem is that the overall level of service has dropped while the pricing has gone up. We all understand the effects of inflation on our daily essentials such as food and rent. Where I have an issue is when you pay the higher rates and then receive a much lower level of service. At some point "go without" is better than leaving frustrated after paying a significant amount of $$.

Men see pros for a reason. When they are given the choice of rejection or a high price, you can't fault some of them for paying the high price. You may prefer rejection, some don't. This forum is not the place for insults over others' unwillingness to choose rejection.

She is currently in NYC studying for her license. She had attempted a few years back to work in a spa closer to me -- first in and. Miami and then to Oceanside (same owner). She was told she did not have to provide HE and began work there. Apparently some customers were used to the normal AMP HE at that location and despite clients asking for more, she politely declined. This got the owner (on site who also provided massage and I suspect is the woman you dealt with) upset and she told my girl that she should make the customers happy, "more tip, more tip for you". My girl declined, saying she was promised that she would provide legit massages. The owner told her that if any client asked for more, that my girl should come and get her. Imagine the monger's surprise that after a request for "more", my girl smiled and said, "be right back (she hardly spoke English at that time)" and in a minute, came back with the 55-60 year old owner who proceeded to yank the crank. My girl left the room. The client was upset at what he perceived to be a bait and switch and left no tip for either woman. At that point, the owner demanded that my girl accede to customers' requests or she would not have a job. It was then my girl called me to come get her, which I did. She stayed with me a week and, after finding a spa in Long Island's "Chinatown" (there is a large online community of help wanted ads in Mandarin), she flew to NYC to try to get a license. When I met her, she was working illegally. She has since gotten her green card for political asylum, has been studying for a December exam date, and will be here in a few weeks prior to that to visit. And yes, she gives a great full body massage and she has pleased me tremendously in ALL areas. Nice things is I have been in this relationship for over 3 years with her and she has refused to let me pay for anything, including air fares.

There used to be a provider at the old Asian Lilly in Boca on federal that closed down about five years ago. Her name was Hylan. She then moved to Yu spa if I'm not mistaken but I didn't see her since and I called Yu spa but they keep saying she's on vacation which is bs. Does anyone know the spa she is working at now?
