Any old timers can answer my question?
I was re visiting Springfield a short while ago. Previously, had been there a few times in the mid 1970's. I was trying to picture the city back as how it was then.
Where did Greyhound used to be? I'm sure it was not where it is now.
There was an adult book store, sort of near the train station. Anyone remember the address of it? Or what street it was on?
There were two parallel streets, next to each other, that would be swarming with SW's on a hot summer night. Which streets where those?
And, I do remember a bar where all the SW's could be found. I believe it was a yellow building. Sort of off by itself. I did see a bar in a yellow building on my recent trip, but it was close to the train station. And definitely not filled with SW's, even on that Saturday night I was there.
Anyone remember the location of the bar I'm referring to back in the 70's? Or the name of it? I'm thinking it might have been called Charlies.

How ironic. I can't tell whether this is in anticipation of the stupid Casino (that will just further decimate my poor Springfield). Yup, it'll bring in some people and some economic stipends to the city and surrounding suburbs. Until, of course, the corrupt people at the top suck all the millions (sorry, BILLIONS) away from those with barely a pot to psis in to begin with, and the skedattle. I guess no one is curious why, with no possible way for a casino to NOT make money, that Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Mohegan and Foxwoods are all bankrupt. The casino is a black hole that sucks dollars from the lower socioeconomic regions to a handful of folk (who likely put it away in the Cayman Islands or China or elsewhere). People are retarded.
But I digressed.
I was watching the new hotel go up wonder if it was in hopes of a Casino or is just going to be another welfare hotel (because they make millions too). I saw Jessica and a few other older working women. Jess didn't look bad. She got picked up pretty quickly. I thought about it, but man the risk to reward ratio is a little too high these days. Then I had the opportunity to take a friend through Holyoke-- there were at least seven working girls there (three she knew by name). She might have ended up on the Streets of Springfield this afternoon too. Times are hard and she knows the scene all too well. She, at least, told me she had "an out" if she could just get a ride to Easthampton. So we cruised through Holyoke on our way to Easthampton. Where, by the way, in exchange for the ride and a nice late lunch at the Easthampton diner, I got to supply her with some protein for dessert. I didn't ask. She offered and her skills are sublime. Good thing her family didn't come home while I received kharma head in their driveway.
My friend is occasionally still is out there on the streets when she, rarely but predictably, slips back into bad habits. It's a rare treat to find her.
Summer must be bringing them out because I have not seen this amount of action, especially in mid-day, in quite a while.
What happened to the Holyoke, MA section?
It appears the Holyoke section has been deleted, even though it was fairly active. Especially for street walker reports. Is it hidden somewhere? Can it be reactivated? Or could it be combined with the Springfield section since they are only about 10 minutes apart?
Cheap hotel in Springfield / Holyoke area?
Does anyone know of a cheap hotel out here, especially one that does hourly rates?
