C3.[/QUOTE]I have stayed at most of the hotels in that area. Each was marginal, at best (IMHO). Uncomfortable beds. Not real clean. Small rooms. Non-working equipment (lights, microwave, WiFi). Noise from the trolley (Rodeway especially). One exception in San Ysidro is the Best Western, which is a few miles from any trolley stop but is much better than the ones closer to the border. For about the same price as that Best Western you can get Ticuan in Tijuana, which is very nice.

The only reason to stay in San Ysidro is if you need to make daily visits to the USA, or if you don't want to bring certain things into Mexico. Much nicer hotels in Tijuana for the same money.

I guess the Chinese tour groups have gotten the hang of the new entrance requirements. Crossed to San Ysidro today to do some banking. Did my stuff and returned to Tijuana. Entered the new building at about 2 PM and as usual there was a Chinese tour group lined up on the right side. The booths were busy too so the male immigration officer waved me to the Mexican national side so no need for the seven day pass. Walked downtown and there were at least two Chinese tour groups wandering around on Revolution. Walked around the Zona and didn't see anything to pique my interest. No sign of my Gilf. Stopped at Hotel Nelson and got a bucket of ten Coronitas. The price went up from 120 pesos to 150 pesos but of course the mesero swore it was still 120 until the bill came. Fuck their games with the prices. Mexico never changes. Gulped the ten beers in about half an hour. Lo and behold my Gilf was at her spot. Oh well I just turned 65 last week so lets see how that has changed my body. Went to the Hotel Campamento with my Gilf. Sure, by all means see both HK and Adelitas clubs, but also walk across the street a few yards to Tropical Bar (across from Hong Kong, can't miss it) and Las Chevalas, just across the alley behind HK and Adelitas. You might be pleasantly surprised at what you and your amigos find in these joints and it costs nothing to look. And while you're at it, swing down the alley a couple of times to admire the street ladies. You and your friends will NEVER see anything comparable in the Sex Prison that is the US of A!
