KBs are so boring these days, girls just going play Mary go around. Hopping from bar to bar.

I have not go to a KBs for 3 weeks now. So I have nothing new to report. I have not seen any new reports here for a while. Just wonder any actions or places worth to visit.

Has anyone been to 904 since under new management? Funds are tight now, haven't been able to visit any of the bars. Next month will be better, but I don't want to waste my time and money if it's junk.

I have been staying away from KBs over 3 weeks now. And I don't miss it a bit. I always have money in my wallet now, unlike in the past I often go broke a few days after pay day.

$40 green bottle is way over priced. Whoever dreamed up with that got to be money thirst. Girls down these green bottles like they are drinking green tea in record pace. Sometimes I wonder if these drinks have been watered down?

Nikki mama you will recognize her from club 74, summit, business, all over kapiolani area. She brought a bunch of girls from splash and town too. Danbi is there, the blind one. Looks like it's the beginning of the end for Twilight, Hot Spot, Lotus, and that complex housing small businesses; closing scheduled for an August / September timeframe; for the tenants, clear and demo for development. Another wispy bit of info for the Chill turnover: scheduling for the "new opening (with a 'Business'-related new name") is now Wednesday, 05/05/2019; take it for whatever it's worth as no definitive / reliable info for the date has emerged. The loss of Evergreen, Talent, D'amour, Double D, Twilight, Hot Spot, Lotus, etc. , along that line will probably become a windfall for those KBs still standing; as well as an advantage for customers with competing KBGs fighting for the piece-of-the-pie.

Writing on the wall, just matter of time, only town bars that left standing probably would be Camelot and Splash. But that still not a guarantee.

KBs are boring, no food, no music, girls these days want at least 2 drinks to start any kind of conversation. And if you stop buying they will just hop on to another table.

Anyway, I predict some Kalihi bars will close as well, business are dead all around, too many bars, not enough patrons.

Sounded pretty firm as a number of girls said this was their last week at Ashley's. I noticed Mimi was around again too. I wonder how many girls will remain at Ashley. I also anticipate girls from other bars like lotus will be making the move. Next week should be interesting as I anticipate some bars will take a huge business cut.

Splash / Ashley would be second best depending upon which route is used, and Camelot (too large)/ Xclusive as secondary venues (due to limited parking) for folks who no like crowded places. If had bus route along Sheridan (never going happen) then that would be the equalizer for KBs in the area. Of course, "where the KBGs are" is always the difference; wherever get the bestest KBGs going get the mostest business. Some KB operators getting all grouchy about their situation.

Not sure about the Camelot complex, but who wants to be next to a dairy processor that delivers in the early morning hours. The big winner would be Splash.

Yes when is all said and done, Camelot and Splash might be the only ones left standing in town. Kalihi might be the next kapiolani. However their business might take a toll when the rail construction moving downtown. Lots of road closure at night.

Major project of moving electric wiring underground and relocation of sewer. Many Pearl City business suffered big loss and some forced to close when the project was done in that area. One note PC did not even have to relocate electric cables and sewer.

Someday even Kalihi is going to get redeveloped. Most of the Kalihi KBs sit on KSBE land, and as the 60 and 80 year leases expire, KSBE plans to develop high-density mixed-used residential / retail buildings all along the rail corridor.

I think Pearl Kai Shopping Center (and the KBs therein) is on KSBE land, too. But that lease won't be expiring anytime soon.

Let's see if an enterprising Mama and her silent LVB partners can open a KB in Ward Village. If that happens, then we will know that the KBs will survive for another generation.

The hardcore kB clientele just isn't big enough to support the business. I hope I don't offend anyone, but reality is majority of the kalihi residents is not the type of clientele that will give good business let alone stability. Already as it is lot of kalihi bars are closing their doors on weekdays at 1 because business is that slow and they know after a certain point there is no possibility of customers. Got to wonder how they making ends meet as it is. Weekends are super busy for some but weekdays is extremely bad. All in all we'll just have to see what type of businesses these new condos will allow on their bottom floors. If anything I foresee things start shifting closer to the King st area and making its way down towards university.

As for moving to King St and the university are, I would have to disagree. To open up a new bar, especially a hostess bar is difficult at best. IIRC, there is a distance requirement from residences that must be met. In the King St and university area, it would prove to be very difficult.

Town side clientele don't have any choice to move west if there is only 2 bars left standing. As far as we know Camelot and Splash are in the safe zone as of now, all other bars in the area are on the demo list.

Younger guys are spending money at places like Club Melo which is full of young college girls who will suck dick or do take out much quicker and easier than a kbar girl will. How they going do this with other viable (AMPs; the aforementioned Club Melo, Ballerina, etc.) venues to look for chicks; not to mention changes in attitude, priority, and sensibility of younger (and current veteran KB) guys whose views of the KBs have changed due to generation, lifestyle, and experience?

The world and its attitudes are obviously changing, so must the KBs. Or just keep the simple formula that works: debauchery?

A nice place to drink and watch the wildlife. However, nobody is drinking. Young people sit two or three at a table but don't drink. Don't interact. Just stare at their phones or computer. If this is what the future is like in Kakaako, then bars are doomed. I don’t know what it’s like late night but at 4pm my bud and I are the only ones drinking and the place is full of youngsters.
