Maybe the two drink thing is coming to a head.
Well guys, I'm just going to tell you, I went back up there tonight and I guess you could say the story gets even more entertaining. To start, Nate wasn't working tonight. Yesterday, during the argument over the drin, at one point, I thought maybe the two drink rule where the customer themselves had to buy and drink two drinks themselves was a misunderstanding. NOPE, not at all. I thought there wouldn't be a problem since he wasn't working but I was wrong.
Now, I see Sky on a semi regular basis. I had texted her through the day earlier, telling her what had happened the previous night, so she was aware of the situation. It was late, I was bored and thought "fuck it", I'll just go up there and see what's going on. I walk in and I think there was 7 or 8 girls working, which is a huge difference from last Wednesday, when there were more like 15. No Kayla tonight though. There's not many guys in the bar but I look over and see Sky sitting andtalking to someone. He looks interested in her and it seems like they might be going in the back. I just say hello as I pass by, sit down and order my drink.
Well, about ten minutes later, I see the guy get up and walk with her toward the back room. He gets to the point to buy his bracelet, turns around without going back, walks back to the bar and finishes what's left of his beer and leaves. A few minutes later, she comes down to sit with me, obviously upset. I've never seen her so down before. Now, I'm not going to get into the personal details of her life, so all I'm going to say is that she has things going on to where she needs money. Anyway, as we're talking, I asked what happened with the other guy. She said, they told him he had to buy a second drink to go back and he didn't want too, so he left. She goes on to tell me that the same thing happened to her twice the night before. So, there's no doubt that the two drink minimum is an issue with a lot of guys and the girls are suffering for it. Well, she's so down at this point, it looks like she's on the verge of tears. She tells me that she didn't make anything the night before and hadn't gone back tonight either. About this time, the waitress comes around and asks if we need anything. Sky and I talk enough to where I don't mind buying her a drink and since she was so down, I bought her one.
Sky is always a fun experience and I was back and forth about whether I was going to go in the back tonight when I went up there. Between her being so down (yes, I kinda felt sorry for her) and me, being the walking hormone that I am, I was ready to fuck, so I told her we could go to the back and asked if the two drink minimum was an issue. She said just tell the waitress and VIP guy that you ordered two and I took a sip of one. Ok, no problem. I go to the bathroom to wash my hands and come back out and Sky tells me, the waitress already told her mom (the other waitress) that I'd just bought one for myself, so I'd have to buy another. Talk about eyebrow raising, mine was.
Now, you might think that's the end of it but it continues to get better yet. So, another waitress comes back with her shot tray and asks if I want to buy one. So, we ask, almost simultaneously, if that shot covers the second drink for me. The answer: Nope! Apparently, shots bought from the shot tray don't count toward your second drink either. I was then told for a shot to count as my second drink, I had to order it from the bar AND it had to be FOR ME. Well, I'd had enough. I said that I wasn't going to do that. I told Sky that it was the principal of it and that I just wasn't doing it. Just after I told her this, insult was added to injury. The older waitress (mom) walks by, looks at me, leans back to Sky and says "If a guy is too cheap to buy another drink on $10 dance night, I don't know what to tell ya" and walks on. I tell Sky that I'm going to go and I'll talk to her later. At that point, I stand up, walk out of the bar and come home.
When I got home, I texted her back and said "I'm sorry about that. I really am but at this point, it's just the principle of the way they're doing things. It's certainly not helping the bar and it's certainly not helping the girls. Then, I went on to tell her "Last night, Kayla didn't make her money off of me and tonight, you didn't. Things have to change up there".
As it stands, Sky lost two guys last night because of this bullshit and at least two tonight because of it. I left around 12:30, so maybe she had time to lose another guy before closing time.
I guess you could say, to my benefit, these two nights have "saved" me enough (as in not spending my monger money on girls that are there) to go see my ATF without digging deeper into my funds. It looks like I'm going to be taking a ride out to see her next week, since I found out that she was out of town at the moment. Based on this and the fact that I still have a few days off for vacation, I'm sure I'll be hitting the clubs again this weekend. I can't say that I won't visit H8's for social activity but if I do, it's quite obvious that I'm not going to be going to the VIP room as things stand. My weekend mongering adventures will likely include H8 N, Bogart's or the Criket. At least at those clubs, I don't need a rulebook and drink chalkboard before I can go into the VIP.
There's no way this isn't hurting the club, because they're not getting their extra cash from the girls going in the back but in truth, it's the girls that are suffering the most. The problem is that even though the back rooms are nicer now, if the girls aren't making their money, they have no choice but to quit or go to work elsewhere. When girls start leaving, especially the attractive ones, guys stop coming in and then, there's no incentive for girls to come back or new girls to come in. Why would they? Word spreads fast, especially among strippers.
Now, you can agree or disagree but all of this has a cascade effect and all of that is stemming from the fact that they're trying to squeeze out one extra drink per customer. As we all can see, that one extra drink is costing them a whole lot more than they're making off of the guys who do buy it. As it stands, things are moving back to the way it was two or three years ago. A dead bar with 3 or 4 unattractive women working the night shift.
Ok, so that's my mini novel or do I call it a blog at this point? For those of you who follow my posts, I hope you're find this all very interesting. Happy Mongering!
