I know some will say don't give them the cash up front but I don't subscribe to that theory. If they are determined to rob you, I'd rather have it be this way than have them come in and there be a confrontation, possibly with a weapon, over it. The first time I reach out to a new provider, no matter what they say the donation is ($200? I ask for less, sometimes insultingly low ($100-120). If they accept too easily it usually means they are desperate and a possible scam. If they say screw you you cheap fuck, I'm pretty sure they are legit.
