Complaint states" did pay, agree to pay or offer to pay another person to engage in sexual conduct, or to agree to engage in sexual conduct with another person".
Any recommendations for a good lawyer? Haven't been arrested in 30 something years so I have no idea what to expect.

Call the DA's number, explain you couldn't hear the offer, didn't want to agree to something you weren't sure about hearing correctly, you're not a 'regular' to the system, and is it too late to accept the community service offer?
Then, stop doing car dates.
Go to the clean, safe, $25/2hr rooming house.

I have to agree, everything here does not add up. usually one is informed at the time of being taken into custody what the charges might be. UC female LE usually don't make the first move, they usually act like they are strolling and let the stupid monger incriminate himself. and if it were a genuine SW working with LE, that just doesn't sound right either.
I suppose they might keep an eye on a known SW and follow whatever vehicle they get into, but there is no law against giving a poor girl a ride and stopping to chat.

Sounds like a bogus story, but you never know what the cops will pull. Sometimes the cops will arrest someone just to see if it stands up in court. A few years ago a cop threatened to arrest me and see what happens in court.
But based upon the facts I think the case is winnable in a jury trial.

Did leave something out in last post. When I went to pickup my vechile the tow truck driver was cool and said the cop told him he was going to let me go but the place was a hot spot and a ton of condoms on the ground. Told the driver someone complained and needed to make an example out of me.

Actually, I have known several people that were transported to court on the same day for a misdemeanor arrest. However, from what was written it doesn't sound likely that they would have (or legally could have) made an arrest. Under Mass law misdemeanor offenses must be committed in an officer's presence in order for them to make an arrest (shoplifting being the only exception). So in order for them to legally make an arrest under Mass law, they would have had to overhear the agreement to pay for sex, or witness the exchange of money and the sex act. Both of which are very unlikely. What is typically done in these situations, is that the officer's will swear out a criminal complaint, which will then result in the suspect(s) being summoned into a hearing before a criminal clerk to determine whether or not there is sufficient evidence to proceed with a criminal charge. If they go forward with a criminal charge, then you will be given another court date and have an arraignment before a judge.

As far as Lowell is concerned, I've had good luck at Jay's, 166 Gorham Street. Fairly easy to find. I've seen a couple near the Appleton & Middlesex area. I beleieve Cupples Square is around Westford & pine.
