I was 'up the street' for a few days and this made the news headlines. Wow, imagine "the more money you bring, the more you can get". Could be talking about grocery stores, car dealerships, concerts, etc. Investigative journalism?

So, it seems a company that sells hacking software to the police, including the ability for LE to turn on web cameras on computers to turn them into surveillance devices, was hacked. Yep. I guess they pissed off the wrong people as they were not only hacked but a whole bunch of private stuff, including copies of invoices to various customers, was freely distributed.
I guess, turn about is fair play, huh?

Fine as hell.
We might as well wear tin foil hats and use smoke signals to communicate. I'm sure they can't spy without a warrant.
Ah, what a trusting soul. Want some government cheese with your kool-aid. I wouldn't be sure at all about warrants and LE following the the rules.
I am no attorney, but I have read a few milestone cases about this issue.
You need to understand that violating your right to be excluded from unwarranted search and seizure (your Forth Amendment right) just means they can't use anything they gather on an illegal operations against you in court. You need to understand there is not protection of your "privacy," just that anything LE learns while violating it can't be used against you in court.
I know that sound really deep, and it is. Just remember, you have no expectation of privacy. LE can certainly violate your "privacy," they just can't use any evidence against you. Of course, what they want is for you to admit something, which CAN be used against you.
In a nut shell, LE can spy against you without a warrant. They cannot use what they learn against you. Which is why you should exercise your Fifth Amendment right and keep quiet.

C3.
What people really need to understand when it comes to a encounter with a police officer is that there is no fucking law. They will do whatever it is they want to do and you will eat it. This self-entitled stuff will just get you more fucked up. Police are not honest. They will plant something on you they will illegal search your car they can arrest you. All your rights in the world won't help you. Its a fairy tale world if you think an officer won't do whatever he wants.
