First, if you follow the rules there is no way for LE to connect you to any text messages or phone calls. Oh, I guess if you are using a phone registered in your name and you carry the cell phone into the date, then yeah, you provide the proof needed to confirm you are the person sending the texts or making the call. But no cell phone into the date, burner phone layered with an app number would require a BUNCH of search warrants, time & effort that is just not cost effective for a misdemeanor crime. Would love to see actual reports where mongers were arrested on arrival, without actually saying anything to UCLE, based on just text / phone conversations. Wonder how a case with no direct evidence would survive in court?

Second, this advice leaves one open to asking about services at the date. THAT is exactly what LE wants you to do talk about things in their presence. In fact, without such a conversation, one should not be able to be nicked. If one has no specific desires other than getting a foot in the door, then OK, those methods work. Usually if you just say hope I didn't offend you or something like that they'll either say we can talk about menu in person or say the item is off the menu.
