CookyJar, we have had several discussions over the past year on this very subject on the Baltimore board.

The conclusion was unanimous. Getting involved with a SW never works out. You will only get hurt in the end. Most are damaged beyond repair and will say and/or do anything to con you so they can buy their drugs. These girls know exactly which buttons to push.

These girls will need extensive rehabilitative drug treatment, psychological therapy, new environment, new friends, and a support group to stand a chance of getting and staying clean. It's an uphill battle every day to stay that way.

REMEMBER ONE IMPORTANT RULE: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DRUGS, NOT YOU!!!

A few of our members related their personal stories about getting involved and in some cases living with SW's. The end result was much pain. Not one would recommend it. One member told how his SW got him hooked on drugs too so he would pay for hers as well. Another member told about his SW girlfriend cheating on him and stealing his car. Still another member told about the wild roller coaster ride - emotionally - he had living with his SW girlfriend.

I tried to help an SW to get clean and start a new life a couple of years ago and it was painful. I was in way over my head thinking I could help her. Never again will I get involved!! I offered to help her get into a residential drug treatment program, store her personal belongings, provide a place for her to live until she could find her own place, find a job, and offered other help. She turned down the offer. The lure of drugs was way too strong for her leave it.

CJ, all the stories ended the same, tragically. If you feel that you are starting to get attached to a SW, you would be best advised to turn and run like hell as fast as you can. We live in two different worlds and the worlds never can come together, but only collide.

Continue to be friendly, treat them respectively and be supportive of these girls, but leave it at that.

First, a john can not get a SW off drugs or the streets. The SW has to want to make the transition on her own. That is not saying that you can't help along the way, but she has to want to make the transition with or without your help.

Second, once clean, I think the future relationship between a john and former SW must hinge on how the relationship was preceived by the both of them during her former life. Did she feel that he treated her with love and respect. Or was it a sex thing. If there was mutual love and respect, tough love and understanding I think a future relationship with have a chance. If was strictly a sexual relationship and the john was her favorite clien, it won't last.

Third, is there complete trust in the relationship on both sides. Is the former client able to put the SW's past life in the past. Will the person wonder is she turning tricks everytime she is gone or not where she is supposed to be.
