Internet-Savvy Prostitute Busted in West Cambridge
From this week's Cambridge newspaper:
Cambridge - Police arrested an alleged prostitute accused of turning tricks with the help of the Internet in normally quiet West Cambridge last week.
The Norumbega Street woman was allegedly posting advertisements for sex on the online forum craigslist under the prostitute name “Tammy.” Her going rate was $200 per hour, according to police.
Detectives arrested 39-year-old **************** and charged her with keeping a house of prostitution and sexual conduct for a fee during a warrant search on her house Jan. 11 at 1:58 p.m.
Police allegedly found two index cards with numerical figures and the names of her johns inside a safe in her upstairs bedroom of a two-family home.
Earlier in the day, a Cambridge detective called the number on the online advertisement and set up a sex sting using the fake john name of “Carlos.” While ******* thought she was greeting a customer named “Carlos” on her enclosed porch at *** Norumbega St., police swarmed the house with a search warrant, according to police reports.
Shaffer’s cleaning woman, who was there at the time of the warrant search, allegedly told police Shaffer had “many male friends that came in and out,” according to police reports.
Cambridge Police set up surveillance outside *******’s house before the raid and allegedly caught an older man leaving the suspected brothel. Before releasing the alleged john, detectives said they saw a yellow notebook on the front seat of his car with the writing, “Tammy, tall, hot stuff” and the phone number from the craigslist advertisement, according to police reports.
Police allegedly found numerous condoms, personal lubricators, notebooks and a black zipper bag with drug paraphernalia in a dresser at *******’s home. Police also seized $488 and an appointment book from *******’s purse. In ******’s living room, police allegedly found a Compaq laptop computer displaying an open window with *******’s Yahoo! e-mail inbox. The inbox had several e-mails with subject headings referring to *******’s craigslist advertisement, according to police.
Police also seized *******’s Sprint cell phone, which allegedly had the same telephone number as the craigslist advertisements for sex. While police were searching her home, *******’s cell phone allegedly rang several times with men calling looking for “Tammy.”
Why tell the cop anything?
My question is why are these guys telling the cop anything? As far as I know you legally don't have to answer any questions other than who you are and produce your license. For pete's sake, just be sure to erase her number from your phone's call log before you leave the room that way even if he tries searching your cell log its not there.
If you stay silent on what possible charge can he arrest you on? Being in a hotel for an hour with no lugage? Unless the hotel has cameras in the hallways they can't even prove what room you went into, for all they know you had the shits and was in the public bathroom.
Every day in Fall River they are busting them it seams

"Young strong Asian Girl, skilled hands, safe clean and private location, appointment only, THIS IS A PRIVET HOME AND IS BY INVITE ONLY, POLICE OR ANY LAW OFFICERS SHALL IDENTIFY THEM SELF AT TIME OF CALL,,,,, ALL MONEYS ARE DONATIONS."
I guess LE didn't identify them self at time of call. What's worse, the FBI was involve setting up hidden video in flower pot! What a great use of tax dollars!
The 2nd best line from the wellesley bust
"In January, police shut down a similar business on Linden Street. Eastwick tipped Wellesley Police off to that operation, said Cleary, although it is unclear why he did that. Newton and Needham have also had arrests in relation to illegal massage parlors and suspected prostitutes."

June Bust in Braintree revealed
today's globe detailed a bust that happened as part of sting looking for **** children. of course i think we all agree that there is absolutely no room for children or forcing anyone in to offering services. this was part of a yearly sting and centered in braintree. unfortunately several providers were caught in this sting although none were **** at least in our part of the area. while we all hope that any and all who use children are put away for good we are disappointed that 'lawful' providers are put out of business.

seven people face prostitution-related charges as a result of a law enforcement sting in braintree, part of a nationwide effort by the fbi to rescue children forced into prostitution.
although none of the people arrested locally in "operation cross country" was ****, one told authorities that she had been working as a prostitute since she was 14. about one-quarter of adult prostitutes started when they were juveniles, officials say.
the stings were carried out last month by local police and the fbi. authorities say they called numbers listed in the erotic services section of craigslist.com and arranged for visits at a local hotel, which was cooperating with police.
most of those arrested were from boston, and were using braintree as a base of operation.
the fbi asked braintree police to be part of the operation because the departments have worked well together in the past and because the town is centrally located, with good highway access, said deputy chief russell jenkins.
in one case, two alleged prostitutes were working from a condominium on skyline drive and police made the arrests there.
according to court records, on june 19 quincy police detective mike ward, posing as a customer, called a number from a craiglist listing which advertised, "i make dreams come true," and "please come see me i good massage you."
a person directed the officer to an address on skyline drive, where he was told to call when out front.
at the address, officers from boston, braintree, and the state set up surveillance.
ward was greeted by an woman who took him to an apartment where there was a second woman. at the same time, police saw a man leaving the apartment. he was stopped because police were unsure if he was an employee or a customer.
it turned out, according to the police report, he was a would-be customer who had only $95 and left to get more money. for $160, he said, he had been promised a full range of sex, authorities said. police said he would receive a summons.
ward was allegedly told he could have sex for $75, and both women were charged with solicitation. a total of $790 was seized, along with personal papers and condoms.
neither the women nor the owner of the condo could be reached.
similar arrests were made at a hotel in braintree.
in addition to the fbi and braintree police, other law enforcement departments involved in the braintree sting were quincy police, the state police, the norfolk county sheriff's office, and the metropolitan law enforcement council.
a similar sting in boston, carried out during the same three-day national initiative, resulted in the arrest of six people.
one child was rescued from exploitation, according to special agent gail marcinkiewicz of the fbi, so the agency considered the operation a success.
nationally, 21 children were recovered in 16 metropolitan areas. the operation was part of a broader initiative called "innocence lost," now in its fifth year, which is geared at stopping criminals engaged in domestic trafficking of children for prostitution, according to the department of justice.
in addition to the fbi, others involved in the initiative are the department of justice child exploitation-obscenity section and the national center for missing & exploited children.
since it began, the operation has led to the conviction of more than 300 people on federal and state charges and the recovery of more than 400 child victims
On His Bike,in The Basement
From todays Herald:
The lure of a $30 trick with a Lowell hooker ended up nearly costing one man more than $60,000 in cash, police said.
Jessica Garcia, 30, was released on personal recognizance yesterday after allegations that she agreed to perform oral sex on the drunken john for $30, but then tied him up and ran off with $62,000 in cash he kept in a duffel bag.
The man had been drinking cognac for several hours on Saturday night when he hopped on his bicycle, cash in tow, to search for a street walker, police said.
He solicited Garcia in front of 143 Westford St. and the pair snuck into the building’s basement, where Garcia was to be paid $30 for oral sex. Instead, she later told police she tied the man’s ankles together with a belt, pushed him over and grabbed the cash, said Lowell Police Capt. Deborah Friedl.
Garcia was arraigned in Lowell District Court yesterday on a charge of unarmed robbery. Garcia could not be reached for comment.
Police said the man had withdrawn $62,000 from six different credit cards, but it’s unclear why. He took the bag of cash with him for safe keeping. That decision, police said, was not a smart one.
“It doesn’t appear that was such a wise decision to take the cash with him and seek out the services of a prostitute while under the influence of alcohol . . . but it is still obviously a very serious incident,” Friedl said.
The man told police he was struck on the head and does not remember the robbery. After waking up, he said he went to a Lowell police station and reported the crime.
Police found Garcia and another man in the downtown Lowell Doubletree Hotel later that night with three stacks of bills totaling $44,521. Friedl said Garcia admitted to tying the man’s legs together and stealing the money.
Friedl said it’s unclear whether Garcia stashed the remainder of the money or whether the victim miscounted the bills before the robbery
So it looks like he paid $18,000 for a blowjob.....
Maybe next time, he won't take out much more than he needs to do the deed and maybe next time he has $62,000 kicking around, he'll buy a car instead of mongering on his bicycle. Kudos to the cops for helping the guy out.
Looks like he got the bonus plan, like I say daily never venture off with a gal to her spot.
