Way back in the old days before this site and before the internet, news stories were the best way to get info about this hobby.

The best place to get a SW? Check the local paper or TV news for a bust. Also back when local papers would print the names of people arrested, for a long time they would print the location and time of arrest too. They thought they were helping LE but they were telling mongers where to go and even what times SWs would be out. After a while they stopped giving times and locations and eventually stopped doing it altogether, around here anyway.

I remember neighborhood groups trying to close down some east side motels that were all but brothels and the TV news showing you right where to go. After the motels were gone or didn't have providers anymore, neighborhood groups would then complain that the hookers were now on such and such streets at all hours and the TV or newspaper would report it. Even the city paper used to run a best place to get a hooker article in the Best Of issue.

Same thing with in and outcall. The papers would run occasional stories and the TV news would have stories with pics and videos. It was funny to think how much they taught mongers back then before mongers could even talk to each other.

Local TV news loved salacious stories even back then. Watching some female TV news anchor like Mary Beth Marsden, or hell anybody named Mary Beth, talk about hookers and escorts was probably somebody's fantasy too.
