Yes, 2nd to another post that NMS has been pretty quiet lately. But, at the same time, I've only ventured early morning and afternoon. Decided to cruise the NMS track last night. On my very first lap, I spotted two women standing on the corner of Mass Ave and Rusfield (by the uhaul), staring down cars. Yep, I saw it, too. And just to elaborate, so that people know what to look out for:

This was around 900-930 at night. The two women wore baseball caps. One was black / Hispanic looking with long straight hair, wearing jeans, and the other had blond hair that didn't go as far as her shoulders.

Next loop around. Blue lights everywhere. There were five SUV police cruisers surrounding whoever they picked up, with 4 behind them and one in front. The street was crowded with people, and I'm guessing around 10 cops. They cleaned up quick, and were gone within about 15 minutes without a trace.

I hope this was a sting for something else, because if the BPD wastes 5 cruisers and 10 cops to pick up one person for a low level crime like this, that is a huge waste of your taxpayer money. If anyone sees a police report, let us know.

To be honest I doubt that was a sting if there was only one vehicle involved. Every time I've seen them run stings there's been a minimum of four vehicles (two unmarked, one marked, and a wagon). They'll also have a few males on foot in plain clothes not far from the decoys. When they make the arrest they swarm from multiple directions for the shock and awe effect.

I have seen the vehicle you described though, and they're constantly running around stopping people in the area lately.

EDIT: just read the post after yours. Now that definitely sounds like how they do stings. Yes, it is a huge waste of resources that could be better utilized for other things. But they care more about the arrest numbers, and the politics involved. Prostitution stings are a very easy way to pad the arrest numbers with very little effort, and low risk.
