Now that STG is blocking connections that have been used for denial-of-service attacks, the VPNs I've tried on are the blocked list, so no STG for me.

There are use limits but I doubt you'll hit them if you are simply surfing. If you are looking for a pay service, Torguard is excellent. You might tell them you received a Black Friday email but lost that email and see if they will still honor that deal. It's a three-year deal, though, so might be more than you want.

When I reach 23 messages in my inbox I can't send or receive any more PMs unless I erase a few. Is the limit for the inbox 23 or I'm doing something wrong? I checked to see if there is another page with old messages but seems 23 to be the limit which is not that much.
If you haven't, check your sent mail folder. I cleared it and now I can send messages again.

Scroll down to the bottom of your messages and you will see a section titled "Folder Controls". It lists the total messages that you have stored in all your folders. The storage limit of all your folders is 200 messages which is a fixed limit.
