I suppose that there isn't a 0% chance of much in this world, but scientists are pretty much in agreement that chlamydia of the throat or larynx is either extremely rare or doesn't even exist, so I don't think it is going to keep me awake nights worrying about contracting it from a BBBJ.

The same is somewhat true for gonorrhea of the throat. It happens but it is rare and goes away in a few weeks. The danger is contracting it during those few weeks. If you get it in the throat (like from kissing an infected woman), most times there will be no symptoms and it will also go away in a few weeks. But if you get it from oral sex, you will pretty much suffer as if you caught it from intercourse and you will probably notice the typical symptoms, which are painful, and most likely will desire to seek a cure, which, fortunately, is rather straight forward antibiotic treatment.

My point exactly. Why hasn’t the facts about anal sex been advertised in the same manner as HIV and intravenous drug use. It’s just a guess, but I’d think HIV has been spread more by the practice of unprotected anal sex than by intravenous drug use.

Cooky and I seem cut from the same psychological cloth (or maybe he disagrees, LOL): we are both intelligent, sardonic, experienced (in the monger sense), cautious and wise (or one would hope). We also both love the sport of mongering, seem to be equal opportunity mongers (in many senses of that phrase) and enjoy SW photojournalism. We are also both overly sensitive, attacked on this board (a natural consequence of frequent posting I suppose), narcissistic (tough pill to swallow, but I admit that one; I won't speak for Cooky), tend to be pit bulls and defend ourselves to the last breath and don't suffer fools gladly.

There is good with every bad. Neither of us is perfect and we have tangled a few times before in this forum. I must admit that the squabbles were not exactly momentous issues (a running argument that starts over socks?; give me a break!), but we both refused to back down in the slightest. I analogize it to the paradox of the irresistible force meeting the immovable object. So, whichever of these I am, I agree not to pursue this silly fight any further, Bad Boy, referee, and President of our fan clubs, :D

I would only disagree somewhat with point number 3. I would hope that our minds are open enough to learn a few things here that are shared (isn't that the point?). It may not keep us from pursuing sex with SWs, danger or not, but, from time to time, it might beneficially influence the way we go about it.

No reason to disagree, maybe I should have clarified. I meant that it wouldn't stop anyone from dating SW's. You guys shouldn't have to suffer fools, idiots, or stone throwers. There are so many of them (stone throwers) around that anytime anything ( a harmless tongue-in-cheek comment) is thrown anyone in your position would react as you did. I heard from 3 Deep Throaters so far, and they echoed similar sentiments. Knucklehead mongers ask for all kinds of things. It seems to turn them on to indulge in their particular fetish verbally. I agree almost completely Forth, the difference in opinion I have is I'd extend that line of reasoning to anyone in sex work, not just the SW. Whether it be an escort, stripper, or non-pro who just dabbles. I'd say anyone who provides goods or services to recieve any sort of sexual gratification is a monger. Conversely I'd say anyone who recieves goods or services to give sexual gratification is a _____. I agree completely that no matter ones chosen profession everyone should be treated with the respect that one expects for themselves.
