54 Busted in Solicitation Sting

(7/13/03 - Washington) — Fifty-four men got more than what they bargained for this weekend in Southeast Washington. The men were arrested for solicitation during a 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. sting operation that ended yesterday in the Congress Heights area. D.C. police say the men were nabbed when they propositioned female officers disguised as prostitutes.

Some of the men also face drug charges. Police say the sting is part of an ongoing operation to combat problems with prostitution and related crimes in the neighborhood.

Couple of news items for everyone:

Escort Summer Breeze, who I knew about only by reputation, died of her injuries. No announcement of whether or not her death has been ruled a homicide, but the police are apparently going through her client list for potential clues.

Yet another strip club inquiry--yeah, I know that not everyone here is into the clubs, if so just ignore this.

As an experiment, I offered to buy a drink for a dancer at Royal Palace last week. The apparent mama-san/waitress quoted me a drink price of $15. My questions:

1) Can you get away with ordering a drink for yourself and then giving it to the dancer? Or is buying a $15 drink the only way to have a dancer sit with you?

2) Has anyone gotten more than casual contact by buying a dancer a drink (it's not necessary to name the dancer or even the club, if you're uncomfortable)? Did you have to offer a substantial tip over and above the drink price (either to the house or the dancer)?

I usually post on Georgia and SC boards, but I used to live in DC area and still frequent MD/VA/DC AMP's when I come up on business so that's the reason I like to monitor these boards. You asked for feedback and I am happy to give you my views.

I've been frequenting AMP's in this country and abroad since the early 70's and that will give you some idea of my age. In that time, I have naturally had similar experiences to the one which you described, i.e., could not get off. But I have never refused to pay a working girl what I promised to pay her.

First of all, depending on the environment, it could be dangerous and could cost you your life. Most of the time you will see only women in AMP's, but I can tell you that in some cases there is a man within easy hailing distance. Keep in mind that even though you are presumably in a licensed massage establishment, you are engaging in an illegal activity at a place where lots of money changes hands "under the table" so to say. Some of these places do get robbed and these people are not stupid. They are clever business people engaging in illegal activity. So there is always the potential for someone to lose their temper and for violence to break out. You have to ask yourself if you want to be involved in a scene like that.

Secondly, since you have paid this woman for an illegal service, you have no legal right to expect anything except a massage. So if there is trouble and LE shows up, are you going to say you paid X number of dollars so you could climax and did not do so?

Thirdly, these woman are human. and they are performing what has to be a distasteful act for them. Granted, you did not force them into the business. And granted, if they are doing a good job, they will give the illusion of enjoying the act as much as you hopefully will enjoy it. But everyone has good and bad days.

So in a nutshell, if the girl did not perform as you expected you just chalk it up to experience. You can complain to the mamasan and that is often more effective than you might think. But I really think it's bad mojo to cheat a working girl out of what you agreed to pay her.

Actually, I have had such poor or inconsistent service from escorts lately that I have been leaning to AMPS (consistent) and SWs (cheap). Sorry if you think me an asshole for posting info you may consider secret, but this board is about sharing information and these places are in business. Yes, this is a public forum, but these places advertise in the paper, the yellow pages, and, IMHO, the LE knows about them anyway. Your description of services mimics those of any number of AMPs noted here almost daily. One more in the mix for us to use would hopefully reduce the pressure on the star performers at places that are hugely popular.

Thanks for the validation. As AMP lovers well know, the girls at these establishments don't often hang around very long. So even though we would like to, it's really hard to form a relationship with them. I think that may be one of many reasons that they move around so much. The management does not want the customers falling in love with the working girls. So as you say, you are smarter to try to form a relationship with the owner or mamasan.

I think it's a good idea (after maybe the second or third visit, to ask to speak to the mamasan. If I find a spa I like I usually do this. I tell the mamasan that I am or intend to become a frequent guest and how much I appreciate good service. It's also a good time to tell her that you don't intend to pay more than $100.00 for FS and that if you are dissatisfied with the service, you intend to let her know about it. It's all about being a responsible consumer.

You are definately right about the rotation factor. I wish there was a way to track them, but they have to be getting shipped off to another spa in another city because you never see them locally again and you know the $$ are good enough that they would find it difficult to quit the biz. The other problem is they are probably being sent back to Korea when the tourist visa expires.

I have never really spoken frankly with a mamasan as I have always felt they would prefer not to discuss openly what goes on in their establisment. Plausible deniability is the DC term here... I do like to do all the friendly gestures and thank you's to the mamasan as well as the provider.

DC has not been a challenge with the price inflation as it appears to be in Atlanta. I am refreshed to see some guys there holding the line at $100 FS tip. Just good business.

In regard to Karma's post, I agree 100% with LexLuther's comments. After you have an understanding with the AMP girl for certain services and services have been rendered, you need to pay for the services regardless of whether you finish or not. The girl has already done her part of the deal and you may not have been happy with it but chalk it up to experience and don't see her again. But refusing to pay her is just wrong and at the very least may get banned from that AMP. There are times when I have been less than happy with the service and/or attitude, but I have always shelled out the 100 in the end. If it happens with more than one girl in a particular AMP, just move on. If in the initial meeting you sense a bad attitude, you can always ask for another girl.

As for the rotation of the girls, I don't know the real reasons. The girls sometimes go back to Korea and other times move on to another AMP in other states. I have curious about how a AMP gets their girls. But there is a steady supply of fresh girls so I am not complaining.
