I have experience mongering hot areas in different cities.

I find that you want a grey car. For some reason, the eye just overlooks grey. The majority of cars are grey then black than white. White stands out at night. Grey is the color to get.

You want a very common car. Honda / Toyota / Hyundai.

You want to give yourself space. I always take it to the back seat, side the front seats up. Can get it done fine in a Civic. But you got to test this out. Mid-sized or large grey Honda / Toyota / Hyundai SUV is absolutely ideal.

I have found American cars, Jeep and Explorers in particular, the back set is very VERY cramped. No good.

Depending upon what you're looking for, this can be a really, really good time. I have experience mongering in an east coast city that has an area famous for a massive addict stroll, kinda like Hamsterdam in The Wire.

If I was buying a for mongering purposes it would be a minivan. I agree with the OP about a neutral color, also its a generic vehicle. You can tint the windows and remove the rear seating and your off to the races.
